Banning a user

Banning a user from your forum will prevent them from accessing any page of the forum. Their IP address and email address will automatically be restricted from using the forum.

When a user is banned, they are automatically moved into the Banned user group. Users in this group have no permissions on the forum and are not counted toward the total number of members.

  1. Log in to your Website Toolbox account.
  2. Click Users.
  3. Click the search icon, enter the user's username, and select the user from the dropdown.
  4. Click Ban .
  5. To confirm, click Yes.
  1. Log in to your forum account (must be an administrator account).
  2. View the user's profile.
  3. Click Ban . (If Ban is not visible, the logged-in user may not have administrator privileges.)

If the post was created by a guest who does not have an account, you can ban them by clicking Menu at the top-right corner of the post and selecting the Ban option.
