Inviting users

You can invite users to your forum by following the instructions below:

  1. Log in to your Website Toolbox account.
  2. Click the Users link.
  3. In the Users menu, click the Invite link.
  4. Enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite.
  5. Click the Invite Users button.

The user will receive an invitation email with a personalized note that you can optionally add. The invitation email will contain a secure invitation URL which can only be used to create a new account for that email address. This way people cannot share the invitation URL. That's beneficial in case you have a private invite-only forum.

If you would like to create a private invite-only forum, follow these instructions. Then only you would be able to create or invite new users using the instructions mentioned above.

Alternatively, you can create the user's account instead of inviting them.

If User Accounts are turned off, the invitation email will contain a link to the home page of the forum instead of a link to create an account.

Invitees will not have to be approved by an administrator even if you have chosen to approve new users.

To prevent abuse, if you are currently using the free trial, you can send a maximum of 500 invitations. If you have a paid subscription, you can send a maximum of 15,000 invitations by default. Please contact us if you need to invite more people.

Invitations should only be sent to people that would be expecting your invitation. People may mark your invitation email as spam otherwise. Your ability to send invitations will be disabled if too many people mark your invitation as spam.
