Choosing what users must pay to access

Each pricing plan decides what a user must pay for. You can apply a plan to your entire forum or to specific categories, and then choose which actions require payment.

  1. Log in to your Website Toolbox account.
  2. Click the Settings link, and then click the Paid Access link.
  3. Scroll down to the Pricing Plans section and click New Pricing Plan, or edit an existing plan.
  4. Choose the area the plan applies to: your entire forum, or specific categories. If you choose specific categories, click Add Categories and select them.
  5. Choose the options under Require Payment To.
  6. Save the plan.

The options under Require Payment To

When a plan applies to your entire forum, the available options are:

  • View the entire forum
  • View the posts within topics
  • View photos or attachments
  • Create topics
  • Reply to topics
  • Send Messages

When a plan applies to specific categories, the available options are:

  • View the categories
  • View the posts within topics
  • View photos or attachments
  • Create topics
  • Reply to topics

A plan can gate more than one option at a time. When a user who has not paid tries to reach an area that a plan requires payment for, the paid access payment page of your forum is displayed instead. Users who have subscribed to a plan that covers that area, users in a free trial, and users you have given paid access to manually are not asked to pay.
