What is a category? What is a heading?

Your forum can contain multiple categories. Each category can contain multiple topics. Each topic can contain multiple posts/replies. Headings are used to organize your categories.

For example:
You can have a category called "Apples" where users would chat about different kinds of apples, a category called "Oranges" where they would chat about different kinds of oranges, and a category called "Bananas" where they would chat about different kinds of bananas.

You could then create a Heading called "Fruits" and put all those categories under that heading. The heading would just be used to organize those categories. Headings are very helpful when you have many categories. It allows the user to easily choose the category that is appropriate for their discussion.

    Heading: Fruits
               Category: Apples
                       Topic: What are your favorite types of apples?
                       Topic: Do you like apples? 
               Category: Oranges
                       Topic: Orange talk
    Heading: Cars
               Category: Car Discussion
                       Topic: I love Honda
                       Topic: My car broke down!
               Category: Car Picture Post
                       Topic: Check out my car!
