The referral program pays you a commission when someone signs up for Website Toolbox through your personal referral link. You earn 15% of every payment your referrals make, for as long as they remain a customer. Every account can participate, on any plan.
Getting your referral link
- Log in to your Website Toolbox account.
- Open your account menu (the avatar in the top right corner) and click Refer & Earn.
- Copy your referral link using the copy icon next to it. The link looks like this: https://www.websitetoolbox.com/#your-account-id
- Share the link on your website, in your newsletter, on social media, or directly with anyone who would benefit from a forum.
How referrals are tracked
- When someone opens your link, Website Toolbox remembers the referral in their browser for up to 5 years.
- If they sign up for an account during that time, they are added to your referral list automatically.
- Signups that use the same email address, IP address, or username as an existing account are not counted, so you cannot refer yourself.
Tracking your earnings
The Refer & Earn page shows five totals. People referred counts everyone who signed up through your link. Subscribed counts the referrals who currently have a paid subscription. Total commission is everything you have earned so far, Paid out is what has already been sent to you, and Available now is your current balance.
The Your referrals table lists each referred account with its status, plan, total charged, and the commission it has generated. Click Details on any row to see the individual payments and the commission from each one. Commission is credited once a referral's payment is successfully processed, so it appears on their billing or renewal date.
Getting paid
Payouts are sent by the Website Toolbox team and appear in the Payout history table on the Refer & Earn page with the date, amount, method, and transaction ID. Your available balance is a cash payout; it is not applied as credit toward your own subscription. Referrals that are still in their free trial appear on your list, and their commission starts once their payments begin.
