If you cannot remember the email address on your Website Toolbox account, you can still reset your password. The reset page can send the message using your username instead, and it shows you a masked version of the address so you know which mailbox to check.
Reset your password using your username
- Open the Reset Password page.
- Click Forgot which email address you used? below the email address box.
- Enter your username in the Username box and click Send Email.
- Read the confirmation message. It shows the address on file with the middle of both parts hidden, for example j***n@ex*****e.com.
- Open that mailbox and click the link in the message we sent you.
Forum administrators can enter their forum username instead of a Website Toolbox account username. We look for your Website Toolbox account first, then for a forum administrator account with that username.
The full address is never written on the page, so only someone who can already open that mailbox can finish the reset.
If no message arrives
A password recovery message is only delivered while your email address still works. If the domain in your address has expired, or the mailbox has been closed, the message is returned to us as undeliverable and will never reach you. In that case, contact us and we will put a working address on your account so that future messages arrive.
