Changing the username format

Your forum users can choose a username that can contain any characters and be in any format by default. However, you can modify your settings so that the username can only contain characters and be in a format that you specify.

Example formats include "First Name Last Name", "Last Name, First Name", etc.

You can modify this setting by following the directions below:

  1. Log in to your Website Toolbox account.
  2. Click the Settings link.
  3. In the Settings menu, click the Security link.
  4. Change the Username Format option as per your requirement.
  5. Save your settings.

A regular expression must be provided in the Username regular expression option. If the option is left blank, the user will be able to specify any type of character or formatting for their username when they create their account.
