Wix is a popular website builder that lets you create professional websites using drag-and-drop tools and hundreds of templates. While Wix offers many features through its App Market, it does not include a built-in community forum or discussion feature.
That's where Website Toolbox comes in. Wix does not fully support the embed code, in particular in the Safari browser, so we recommend that you link to your forum from your site's navigation instead of embedding it. Either way, you get user accounts, moderation tools, and real-time conversations.
This works really well for:
- Business websites with customer communities
- Blog reader discussions
- Online course discussions
- Customer support forums
- Feedback and feature request boards
- Private member groups
- Coaching and membership sites
- SaaS product communities
This step-by-step guide walks you through the process:
Step-by-Step: Add Your Forum
Link to the Forum
Wix does not support embedding the forum into your Wix website, so the embed code will not work reliably on a Wix page. Instead, add a link to your forum in your Wix navigation menu. Visitors select the link and your forum opens in its own page, where members can log in and take part normally.
- Visit wix.com and log in to your account. If you don't have one, click Get Started to create an account.
- Open the Wix Editor for the site where you want to add the forum.
-
Get your Website Toolbox forum URL:
- Log in to your Website Toolbox account or create a new forum if you don't already have one.
- Copy your forum URL from the browser address bar.
- In the Wix Editor, click Add (+) in the left toolbar, then select Menu & Search → Horizontal Menu (or edit your existing menu).
- Add a new menu item, enter Forum as the name, and paste your forum URL as the link.
- Click Publish to deploy your changes.
- Visit your website. A Forum link will appear in the navigation, opening your forum in a new tab.
Single Sign On
Website Toolbox offers a custom SSO integration service starting at $199.
How to purchase custom SSO integration:
- Log in to your Website Toolbox account.
- Go to Integrate → Single Sign On.
- Under Your Website Builder, select Wix from the dropdown.
- Follow the prompts to complete your purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Wix have a built-in forum feature?
No, Wix does not include a native forum feature. However, you can add one using Website Toolbox by linking to it from your navigation.
Should I embed the forum or link to it?
We recommend linking to your forum. Wix does not fully support the embed code, in particular in the Safari browser, so members may not be able to log in to an embedded forum. A link opens the forum in its own page and works reliably in every browser.
Can I customize the look of my forum?
Yes. Website Toolbox provides a theme editor with a variety of themes you can choose from to match your Wix site's design. You can customize colors, fonts, layout settings, and more to create a seamless look.
Can I make the forum private or members-only?
Absolutely. You can restrict forum access to logged-in users, create invite-only communities, or charge for access with subscription plans. Combined with the SSO integration, you can seamlessly connect your Wix site's user system with the forum.
Will the forum work on mobile devices?
Yes. Website Toolbox forums are fully responsive and work great on phones, tablets, and desktops. Website Toolbox also offers a mobile app so your members can participate from their phones.
