WooCommerce is the most popular e-commerce plugin for WordPress, powering millions of online stores worldwide. It gives you full control over products, payments, and shipping. But like most e-commerce platforms, it doesn't include a built-in community forum or discussion feature for your customers.
That's where Website Toolbox comes in. You can embed a fully featured discussion forum directly into your WooCommerce store, or simply link to your forum from your site's navigation. Either way, you get user accounts, moderation tools, and real-time conversations with your customers.
This works really well for:
- Product discussion and review communities
- Customer support and help forums
- Pre-sales Q&A boards
- Brand and fan communities
- Wholesale and B2B buyer groups
- Feedback and feature request boards
- Private VIP customer groups
This step-by-step guide walks you through the process:
Step-by-Step: Add Your Forum
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard at yourdomain.com/wp-admin. If you don't have WooCommerce installed yet, go to Plugins → Add New, search for WooCommerce, and click Install then Activate.
- In the WordPress admin sidebar, go to Pages → Add New to create a new page for your forum. You can also open an existing page where you want to add the forum.
- In the block editor, click the + (Add Block) button, search for Custom HTML, and click it to add a Custom HTML block to your page. This is where you'll paste your embed code or link.
-
You can either embed the forum directly into the page or link to it. Both approaches start the same way. You'll need your Website Toolbox forum URL or embed code:
- Log in to your Website Toolbox account or create a new forum if you don't already have one.
- Copy your forum URL. You'll need this for the linking approach.
- For the embedding approach, go to Integrate Embed → Embed your forum , and copy the embed code.
-
Option A: Embed the Forum
- In the Custom HTML block you added, paste the full embed code you copied from Website Toolbox.
- Click the Preview tab at the top of the Custom HTML block to see how the forum will look on your page.
- Adjust the block's width if needed. The forum will fill the available space automatically.
Option B: Link to the Forum
- Add a Buttons block or a Paragraph block to your page instead of (or in addition to) the Custom HTML block.
- Type a label like "Visit Our Community Forum" and select the text.
- Click the link icon and paste your Website Toolbox forum URL. Toggle Open in new tab so visitors stay on your store.
- Click the Publish button in the top-right corner of the WordPress editor. If you're editing an existing page, click Update instead.
- Visit your published page and copy the URL from the browser's address bar. You'll need this for the next step.
- Go back to the Website Toolbox Integrate → Embed → Embed Your Forum section and paste your WooCommerce page URL into the Where is the forum embedded? field.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does WooCommerce have a built-in forum feature?
No, WooCommerce does not have a native forum or community feature. However, you can easily add a forum to your store using Website Toolbox, either by embedding it directly into a page or by linking to it from your navigation.
Should I embed the forum or link to it?
Both work well. Embedding keeps users on your WooCommerce site and integrates the forum seamlessly into your store's design. Linking is simpler to set up and opens the forum in its own page, which can be a better experience on mobile devices. Choose whichever fits your workflow.
Can I customize the look of my embedded forum?
Yes. Website Toolbox provides a theme editor with a variety of themes you can choose from to match your WooCommerce store's design. You can customize colors, fonts, layout settings, and more to create a seamless look.
Can I make the forum private or members-only?
Absolutely. You can restrict forum access to logged-in users, create invite-only communities, or charge for access with subscription plans. Combined with the SSO integration, you can seamlessly connect your WooCommerce customer accounts with the forum.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. WordPress and WooCommerce use a visual block editor. Adding a forum is as simple as pasting your embed code into a Custom HTML block. No coding knowledge required.
Will the forum work on mobile devices?
Yes. Website Toolbox forums are fully responsive and work great on phones, tablets, and desktops. If you embed the forum, the iframe adapts to the container size automatically. Website Toolbox also offers a mobile app so your members can participate from their phones.
