Embedding a forum into your Tilda website

Tilda is a popular website builder known for its block-based editor with over 550 customizable pre-designed blocks, its Zero Block design tool, and its AI-powered website creation features. It is widely used in Russia, Europe, and around the world for creating landing pages, online stores, blogs, and business websites. But like most website builders, it does not include a built-in community forum or discussion feature.

That's where Website Toolbox comes in. You can embed a fully featured discussion forum directly into your Tilda site, or simply link to your forum from your site's navigation. Either way, you get user accounts, moderation tools, and real-time conversations.

This works really well for:

  • Product communities
  • Online course discussions
  • Coaching and membership sites
  • Customer support forums
  • Feedback and feature request boards
  • Creator and hobby communities
  • Private member groups

This step-by-step guide walks you through the process:

Step-by-Step: Add Your Forum

  1. Visit tilda.cc and log in to your account. If you don't have one, click Sign Up to create a free account.
  2. From your Tilda dashboard, open the site where you want to add the forum, or create a new site.
  3. Open the page where you want to add the forum, or create a new page. You can add a new page by clicking the + button in the left panel under your site's page list.
  4. You can either embed the forum directly into the page or link to it. Both approaches start the same way. You'll need your Website Toolbox forum URL or embed code:
    1. Log in to your Website Toolbox account or create a new forum if you don't already have one.
    2. Copy your forum URL. You'll need this for the linking approach.
    3. For the embedding approach, go to Integrate Embed Embed your forum , and copy the embed code.
  5. Option A: Embed the forum: In the Tilda page editor, click the + button between blocks to add a new block. Go to OtherT123 (Embed HTML Code). Hover over the new block and click Content. Paste your Website Toolbox embed code into the HTML CODE field. Click Save.

Option B: Link to the forum: Add a new block or edit an existing text block. Type the link text (e.g., "Visit our Forum"), select the text, click the link icon, and paste your forum URL. Set it to open in a new tab.
  6. Click the Publish button in the top-right corner of the Tilda editor to publish your site. Note that embedded HTML code only works on the published version of your site, not in the editor preview.
  7. If you chose the embedding approach, copy the URL of your published Forum page. You can find it in your site's page settings or by visiting the published URL.
  8. If you chose the embedding approach, go back to the Website Toolbox Integrate Embed Embed Your Forum section and paste your Tilda Forum page URL into the Where is the forum embedded? field.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Tilda have a built-in forum feature?

No, Tilda does not currently have a native forum feature. However, you can easily add a forum to your site using Website Toolbox, either by embedding it directly into a page using the T123 HTML block or by linking to it from your navigation.

Should I embed the forum or link to it?

Both work well. Embedding keeps users on your Tilda site and integrates the forum seamlessly into your page layout. Linking is simpler to set up and opens the forum in its own page, which can be a better experience on mobile devices. Choose whichever fits your workflow.

Can I customize the look of my embedded forum?

Yes. Website Toolbox provides a theme editor with a variety of themes you can choose from to match your Tilda site's design. You can customize colors, fonts, layout settings, and more to create a seamless look.

Can I make the forum private or members-only?

Absolutely. You can restrict forum access to logged-in users, create invite-only communities, or charge for access with subscription plans. Combined with the SSO integration, you can seamlessly connect your Tilda site's user system with the forum.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Tilda's block-based editor makes it easy to add custom HTML without writing code. You simply add the T123 "Embed HTML Code" block, paste the embed code, and publish. Tilda handles the rest.

Will the forum work on mobile devices?

Yes. Website Toolbox forums are fully responsive and work great on phones, tablets, and desktops. If you embed the forum, the iframe adapts to the container size automatically. Website Toolbox also offers a mobile app so your members can participate from their phones.
