Embedding a forum into your Nicepage website

Nicepage is a free website builder with a desktop app and online editor that lets you design websites using a drag-and-drop interface. It works with WordPress, Joomla, and can export standalone HTML5 sites. But like most website builders, it doesn't include a built-in community forum or discussion feature.

That's where Website Toolbox comes in. You can embed a fully featured discussion forum directly into your Nicepage site using the HTML element, or simply link to your forum from your site's navigation. Either way, you get user accounts, moderation tools, and real-time conversations.

This works really well for:

  • Business and brand communities
  • Customer support forums
  • Portfolio feedback and discussions
  • Event and conference communities
  • Nonprofit and community organization forums
  • Freelancer client portals
  • Niche hobby and interest groups

This step-by-step guide walks you through the process:

Step-by-Step: Add Your Forum

  1. Visit nicepage.com and log in to your account. If you don't have one, click Register to create a free account.
  2. From your dashboard, open the site you want to edit or click Create New Site to start from a template.
  3. In the Nicepage editor, navigate to the page where you want to add the forum. Click the Add button to add a new block, then select a blank or content block layout.
  4. You'll need your Website Toolbox forum URL or embed code. Here's how to get it:
    1. Log in to your Website Toolbox account or create a new forum if you don't already have one.
    2. Copy your forum URL. You'll need this for the linking approach.
    3. For the embedding approach, go to Integrate Embed Embed your forum , and copy the embed code.
  5. Option A: Link to the forum: In the Nicepage editor, select a text element or button on your page. In the properties panel on the right, set the link URL to your Website Toolbox forum URL and choose to open it in a new tab.

Option B: Embed the forum: In the Nicepage editor, click the Add button to add a new block, then drag the HTML element from the elements panel onto your page. Click on the HTML element to open its code editor, paste your Website Toolbox embed code, and click OK. Resize the element as needed to fit your layout.
  6. Click the Publish button in the top-right corner of the Nicepage editor. Choose your publishing method (Nicepage hosting, WordPress, or HTML export) and publish your site.
  7. If you chose the embedding approach, copy the URL of your published page where the forum is embedded. You can find it in your site's navigation or by visiting the published URL.
  8. If you chose the embedding approach, go back to the Website Toolbox Integrate Embed Embed Your Forum section and paste your Nicepage page URL into the Where is the forum embedded? field.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Nicepage have a built-in forum feature?

No, Nicepage does not currently have a native forum feature. However, you can easily add a forum to your site using Website Toolbox, either by embedding it directly into a page with the HTML element or by linking to it from your navigation.

Should I embed the forum or link to it?

Both work well. Embedding keeps users on your Nicepage site and integrates the forum seamlessly into your page layout. Linking is simpler to set up and opens the forum in its own page, which can be a better experience on mobile devices. Choose whichever fits your workflow.

Can I customize the look of my embedded forum?

Yes. Website Toolbox provides a theme editor with a variety of themes you can choose from to match your Nicepage site's design. You can customize colors, fonts, layout settings, and more to create a seamless look.

Can I make the forum private or members-only?

Absolutely. You can restrict forum access to logged-in users, create invite-only communities, or charge for access with subscription plans. Combined with the SSO integration, you can seamlessly connect your Nicepage site's user system with the forum.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Nicepage is a drag-and-drop website builder that requires no coding knowledge. To add the forum, you simply paste the Website Toolbox embed code into Nicepage's HTML element. No technical skills required.

Will the forum work on mobile devices?

Yes. Website Toolbox forums are fully responsive and work great on phones, tablets, and desktops. If you embed the forum, the iframe adapts to the container size automatically. Website Toolbox also offers a mobile app so your members can participate from their phones.
