Embedding a forum into your Divi website

Divi is a popular WordPress theme and drag-and-drop page builder from Elegant Themes that helps you design beautiful websites without writing code. But like WordPress itself, it doesn't include a built-in community forum or discussion feature.

That's where Website Toolbox comes in. You can embed a fully featured discussion forum directly into your Divi page, or simply link to your forum from your site's navigation. Either way, you get user accounts, moderation tools, and real-time conversations.

This works really well for:

  • SaaS product communities
  • Online course discussions
  • Coaching and membership sites
  • Customer support forums
  • Feedback and feature request boards
  • Creator and hobby communities
  • Private member groups

This step-by-step guide walks you through the process:

Step-by-Step: Add Your Forum

Option A: Embed the Forum

  1. Go to the WordPress admin dashboard for your website and open the page where you want to add the forum using the Divi Builder (click Edit with Divi Builder).
  2. In the Divi Builder, click the green plus icon to add a new section, then the gray plus icon inside the section to add a new row.
  3. Get your Website Toolbox embed code:
    1. Log in to your Website Toolbox account or create a new forum if you don't already have one.
    2. Go to Integrate EmbedEmbed your forum and copy the embed code.
  4. Inside the new row, click the gray plus icon to add a module, then select the Code module from the module list.
  5. In the Code module settings, paste your Website Toolbox embed code into the text field, then save the module.
  6. Click Save in the Divi Builder, then update or publish the page.
  7. Copy the URL of your published Forum page.
  8. Go back to Website Toolbox and paste the URL into the Where is the forum embedded? field in the Embed your forum settings.

Option B: Link to the Forum

  1. Go to the WordPress admin dashboard for your website and open the page where you want to add the forum link using the Divi Builder (click Edit with Divi Builder).
  2. Add a Button, Text, or Blurb module where you want the link to appear.
  3. Get your Website Toolbox forum URL:
    1. Log in to your Website Toolbox account or create a new forum if you don't already have one.
    2. Copy your forum URL.
  4. In the module settings, paste your forum URL into the Link field.
  5. Click Save in the Divi Builder, then update or publish the page.

Single Sign On

Divi runs on WordPress, so the easiest way to enable Single Sign On is with our free WordPress plugin. It automatically signs your members in to the forum when they log in to your WordPress site, and it creates forum accounts for your existing and new users. The plugin also handles embedding, so you can skip the manual steps above entirely.

To get started, install and activate the Website Toolbox Forum plugin from PluginsAdd New in your WordPress admin, then follow the setup instructions in our WordPress plugin article.

What Your Members Can Do

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Divi have a built-in forum feature?

No, Divi is a page builder and does not include a native forum feature. However, you can easily add a forum to your site using Website Toolbox, either by embedding it directly into a page with the Code module or by linking to it from your navigation.

Should I embed the forum or link to it?

Both work well. Embedding keeps users on your Divi site and integrates the forum seamlessly into your page layout. Linking is simpler to set up and opens the forum in its own page, which can be a better experience on mobile devices. Choose whichever fits your workflow.

Can I customize the look of my embedded forum?

Yes. Website Toolbox provides a theme editor with a variety of themes you can choose from to match your Divi site's design. You can customize colors, fonts, layout settings, and more to create a seamless look.

Can I make the forum private or members-only?

Absolutely. You can restrict forum access to logged-in users, create invite-only communities, or charge for access with subscription plans. Combined with the WordPress plugin's Single Sign On, your members stay logged in automatically.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Divi is a drag-and-drop builder, so you can add the forum with the Code module without writing any code yourself. Just paste the embed code or URL and Divi handles the rest.

Will the forum work on mobile devices?

Yes. Website Toolbox forums are fully responsive and work great on phones, tablets, and desktops. If you embed the forum, the iframe adapts to the container size automatically. Website Toolbox also offers a mobile app so your members can participate from their phones.
