Bolt.new is an AI-powered web development agent by StackBlitz that lets you build, run, and deploy full-stack websites and web apps directly from your browser. You describe what you want in plain language, and Bolt generates the code, shows a live preview, and lets you deploy with one click. But like most AI builders, it doesn't include a built-in community forum or discussion feature.
That's where Website Toolbox comes in. You can embed a fully featured discussion forum directly into your Bolt.new site, or simply link to your forum from your site's navigation. Either way, you get user accounts, moderation tools, and real-time conversations.
This works really well for:
- SaaS product communities
- Online course discussions
- Coaching and membership sites
- Customer support forums
- Feedback and feature request boards
- Creator and hobby communities
- Private member groups
This step-by-step guide walks you through the process:
Step-by-Step: Add Your Forum
- Visit bolt.new and log in to your account. If you don't have one, click Sign up to create a free account.
- From the dashboard, click New Project to start a new project, or open an existing project where you want to add the forum.
- In the Bolt chat panel, type a prompt to create a new page for your forum. For example: "Add a new page called Forum to my website with a link in the navigation." Bolt will generate the page and add it to your project's navigation.
-
You can either embed the forum directly into the page or link to it. Both approaches start the same way. You'll need your Website Toolbox forum URL or embed code:
- Log in to your Website Toolbox account or create a new forum if you don't already have one.
- Copy your forum URL. You'll need this for the linking approach.
- For the embedding approach, go to Integrate Embed → Embed your forum , and copy the embed code.
-
Option A: Link to the forum: In the Bolt chat, paste a prompt like:
"Add a link to my Forum page that opens my forum URL in a new tab."
Option B: Embed the forum: In the Bolt chat, paste a prompt like: "Embed the following code into the Forum page as a full-width iframe: [paste your embed code here]" Bolt will add the iframe to your page. - Click the Publish button in the top-right corner of the Bolt editor. Configure your published URL and click Publish to deploy your site.
- If you chose the embedding approach, copy the URL of your published Forum page. You can find it in your site's navigation or by visiting the published URL and navigating to the Forum page.
- If you chose the embedding approach, go back to the Website Toolbox Integrate → Embed → Embed Your Forum section and paste your Bolt.new Forum page URL into the Where is the forum embedded? field.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Bolt.new have a built-in forum feature?
No, Bolt.new does not currently have a native forum feature. However, you can easily add a forum to your site using Website Toolbox, either by embedding it directly into a page or by linking to it from your navigation.
Should I embed the forum or link to it?
Both work well. Embedding keeps users on your Bolt.new site and integrates the forum seamlessly into your page layout. Linking is simpler to set up and opens the forum in its own page, which can be a better experience on mobile devices. Choose whichever fits your workflow.
Can I customize the look of my embedded forum?
Yes. Website Toolbox provides a theme editor with a variety of themes you can choose from to match your Bolt.new site's design. You can customize colors, fonts, layout settings, and more to create a seamless look.
Can I make the forum private or members-only?
Absolutely. You can restrict forum access to logged-in users, create invite-only communities, or charge for access with subscription plans. Combined with the SSO integration, you can seamlessly connect your Bolt.new app's user system with the forum.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Bolt.new uses AI to generate code from plain-language prompts. You just describe what you want, and Bolt builds it. The same applies to adding the forum. Paste the embed code or URL and Bolt handles the rest.
Will the forum work on mobile devices?
Yes. Website Toolbox forums are fully responsive and work great on phones, tablets, and desktops. If you embed the forum, the iframe adapts to the container size automatically. Website Toolbox also offers a mobile app so your members can participate from their phones.
