Website Toolbox shows more pageviews than third-party analytics tools

A third-party website traffic analytics tool, such as Google Analytics, may show less pageview usage than the View Statistics section of your Website Toolbox account. This happens because the tracking code is inserted into the Custom HTML section of your Website Toolbox account so that it can properly track pageviews. However, there are many high-traffic areas of your forum which will not load the Custom HTML on the page. Examples of this include RSS feeds, javascript feeds, and XML feeds. Pages that do not include code from the Custom HTML section will not be tracked by the third-party, and would therefore result in incorrect statistics provided by the third-party.

The following steps can be taken to ensure that your pageviews shown in the View Statistics section match the statistics tracked by a third-party:

• Turn off RSS feeds in the General Settings section of your Website Toolbox account.
• Privatize your forum by password protecting your forum. or turning off the Can view forum permission for the Unregistered / Not Logged In user group by editing the user group permissions.
• Ensure that you are not using the JavaScript or XML feeds to embed content on your website. (Refer to the Content Syndication section of your Website Toolbox account.)

Unfortunately, detailed pageview usage statistics are currently not available through Website Toolbox. However, this feature is planned for release in the near future.
