Importing Users You can import users from a different system into your forum by uploading a text file containing all of their account information separated by commas. Each row in the text file should be in the following format: Username,Email,Password,User Group,First Name,Last Name Only the username and email address are required. Other fields must be included in each row, but can be left blank. If you only have the encrypted version of the user's password, leave the password field blank. In that case, a link to choose a password will be included in the welcome email. If you have the information in a spreadsheet, you can save it in a comma separated format by changing Save as type to CSV (Comma Delimited) in the Save As dialog of your spreadsheet editor. If you would like to hide the users from the forum members list, you can create a new user group that has the Viewable on the members list option turned off and import the users into that user group. You can import users from a different system into your forum by following the directions below:
Importing Forum Data Besides importing users, there is currently no way to automatically transfer your other forum data from a different system. This is due to the fact that our database structure is very different from the normal structure, since Website Toolbox must accommodate thousands of customers. In most cases our technicians should be able to manually import all or part of your data one record at a time. If you have recently started your account with Website Toolbox, the import is free of cost. Otherwise there is a flat fee of $14.95, plus $0.19 per record imported. The maximum cost is $149, regardless of the number of records which need to be imported. You may contact Customer Support and send us your data to determine if it is possible to import your data using this method. The ability to import your data largely depends on the format it is given to us in. An SQL format is preferred. If you have the data in multiple different formats, please send all formats available.
