A police standoff in Boone county has ended with the shooting death of Jessie White of Ottawa.

Boone County Sheriffs Deputies surrounded White's house in the Ottawa area, where he had barricaded himself with what authorities call an arsenal.

The standoff closed Route 17 in Boone County for hours.

Ramage Elementary School was on lock down, but students were let go. Some of them had to wait on school buses for hours to be reunited with family.

At about 7:30 pm, people at the scene could hear a hail of gunfire.

At 9:00 pm, a medical examiner was called to the scene.

wireless router

Alright fellas, since my 1 year cheap subscriptions ran out I've had to drop Verizon and upgrade my comcast. Do any of ya'll know a good wireless router for cable internet? I'm looking at spending the least amount possible, I just need it to be somewhat reliable and to work downstairs in my house (modem is upstairs).....

Lake Erie Report

Both perch and walleye fishing remain very good on the western end of the lake. Limits of both species have been common this week. Perch are running 8-10 inches with walleyes ranging 2-4 lbs on average. The great fishing should continue for the rest of the fall.

Practice on wrapping rods?

Just a quick question. What is a good way of practicing rod wrapping? I was thinking that if you used a wooden dowel about the same diameter of a rod it would help.

Playing in the rain

Not sure I like the idea of playing in the rain Sat. Rain always seems to close up the talent gap between teams. I recall that game between Louisville & FSU which served as the springboard to the nice run Louisville had. I'm still not worried because I would rather have #5 playing in roller skates, than anyone else in the country this year. I just think we win by 25+ in nice weather, and it might be closer in sloppy conditions.

One good thing about it. We have that deep OL that should help out.

Family Loss

Our little foster dog, Nicholas, was hit by a car and died about 9:10 yesterday evening. My wife had gotten him from a lady in late June who was unable to take care of him and his brother. His brother got adopted out pretty fast. But after a few days with little Nicholas, I wasn't in too much of a hurry for him to be adopted. I've never seen a dog like him. He would let me move him around on the bed, pick him up, do whatever, as long as he was getting some love it was all OK. He loved playing with the other dogs and loved the kids too. My wife and I had taken him to Marlinton with us this weekend. She was getting ready to walk him this evening and when she opened the gate he was quite on the leash and ran out into the street. I heard her yell for him to come back and ran downstairs and outside and heard the car hit him. I thought maybe we'd be lucky and just a broken leg or something, but when I got him into the truck to take him to the vet and saw blood coming out of his nose, I knew it was no use. He died right before I got him there. We'd had a couple of calls from people interested in him recently (he's been listed on Petfinder) and it was breaking my heart to think of him going somewhere else. But that sure would have been easier than this. 2:56 AM and I'm still hoping to get some sleep, I've got to dig his grave later today.

Advice needed to remove a broken exhaust stud

A seemingly simple job has turned out to be more involved. My truck has an 8mm stud broken off about 1/8" below the face where the manifold bolts up. I have a 3/32 hole drilled completely through it and have saturated it inside as best I can with penetrating oil. It's an aluminum head and close to a fuel line so I'm afraid to apply much heat to it. I have easy-outs to try but afraid of breaking one off, then I'll have to pull the head. An easy-out only works in one direction, but I would like to have something that would bite into it to apply force CW or CCW so I could "wiggle" it both directions a little to loosen. Ever heard of anything like this? Any other suggestions? Anyone ever pull the head on a 5.4 liter Ford?
