Well, the volleyball girls brought home a 3rd place trophy from districts, the first there's been in a long time if not ever! Now it's onto a tough divisional but the girls are doing just great! They need some support from the community though so hopefully many will travel down to Harlow Thursday to give the girls their best! Go Lady Raiders!

The News-Argus has just launched a new and improved website this week. One of the nicest features is a link to photos that have published in the paper as well as ones that haven't published but were taken. Folks can order favorite photos of their kids, etc. The homecoming parade photos are being uploaded today as are volleyball and football photos, so check them out! www.lewistownnews.com

Well it's probably old news to some but both the Gazette and Tribune had stories in them today about Dylan's broken ankle. What a huge bummer for Dylan! He has certainly made Winifred proud, as well as Bozeman, and best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to him.

How about them Raider football players! Nice win over Gardiner on Saturday. The crowd was really scant and with Frank gone there was no music or announcing which was a drag but the boys still did a great job with a nice 42-8 win!!! The volleyball girls lost to Harlowton in 4 but they just get better every game and if you haven't come to see them play you should. They never quit and have only lost their games by very small margins. Their future is bright! Go Raiders!

Winifred football?

I'm having a tough time finding a schedule, or the results of last weekends football game. It would be great if someone could post things of that nature on here. Is this info on the school website? I tried that site, but it didn't seem to come up.

As you may have noticed, I am doing an overhaul of the website. Until I get the time to complete the "transformation" of the site into something a bit cleaner and easier to read and navigate, it is going to have some pretty funky looking pages in it.

Apolgies for that mess, but I hope that you enjoy the end result when the process is complete.

Winifred Small Business Development Organization

As a result of some really interesting and insightful conversations with fellow Winifredites last weekend, I have decided to push forward with an idea to create a Winifred small business development organization (name to be determined later) whose members would work toward the goal of bringing more businesses, jobs, opportunities, housing, kids in the schools, etc., etc., to Winifred. Membership would be open to anyone interested in the cause, and the more members, the better.

We each have certain skills, insights and resources we have to offer (and I mean EVERYONE when I say that). The more of us who are willing to apply those skills, insights and resources to a particular cause, the more successful we will be. Individually, we can't do all that much. But collectively, we can kick some ass royale (see the 2008 basketball team for the perfect analogy).

More information will be coming in the coming weeks. I need to sit down and do some writing to lay out the general idea, and then I will do my best to see to it than anyone who might be interested is contacted about joining this group.
