How to input information?

Howdy all,
How do I input digital data into the Mixed Amplitude Frequency Modulation file? The digital input stream that I am trying to put in is:
00 10 01 11 01 00 11 10 00 10
Each pair of bits represent 1 bit each from two digital input signals. I have tried clicking the FSK block and the case block but the results are not being inputted. Please help?

Multiplexer circuits

Working on a project and need help.
I am trying to design a CommSim circuit that will generate the analog carrier based on the digital input stream below (please click link for Figure 1)
Figure 1: ASK-FSK modulated carrier. The digital input stream is
00 10 01 11 01 00 11 10 00 10.
Each pair of bits represents one bit each from two digital input signals .

Two questions:

How do I implement an analog multiplexer circuit diagram using CommSim software?

How can schematic diagrams be generated from CommSim software?

I would appreciate any help that will steer me in the right direction.

weaving problems

I have a problem regarding weaving on a short weaving section. Two lanes are reduced to one past a maintains work on one lane. The road is heavily trafficated and vehicles on the lane that will be closed (the inner lane) down stream have problems to weave in to the other lane because vehicles in this lane doesn't slow down to let them in.

I want the vehicles on the inner line to be more aggressive and change lane and I want the vehicles on the outer lane to slow down and let the vehicles on the inner lane in.

Anyone who knows what i could do?

WAVE PROPAGATION

I was wondering if anybody could help me out here?

Regarding Wave Propagation calculations in Vissim-
I am trying to figure a way to perform square roots.

Also I noticed that some mathematical functions are missing from Commsim. Can the missing math functions be synthesized from the existing ones?

I am reading the manual but can't seem to find the help I'm looking for.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

Users of network licenses for VisSim 7.0 have reported having difficulty displaying pages of the new .chm format help file. This is due to security precautions implemented within Windows networks.

Even though the "Contents" tab is visible and active, the selected topics/articles are not accessible. In their place, error messages are displayed such as:
   Cannot find server,
   DNS Error, or
   This program cannot display the webpage

The client-side install, setupVisSimClient70.exe, has been updated in an attempt to get around these spurious errors: A copy of the vissim70.chm file will be installed locally, with the Help icon short-cut (and the link from within VisSim) pointing to the local copy. The update can be obtained from here: www.vissim.com/support/setupVisSimClient70.exe

In addition, this updated version includes other bug fixes:
1) Corrects the examples icon short-cuts in the VisSim 70 - Software folder. The icons now point to examples stored on the server.

2) The Uninstall icon short-cut has been corrected. It had pointed to the servers .LOG file. If a client user attempted to uninstall their local copy using this Program Group short-cut, this would inadvertently remove the servers installation.

3) Two misdirected doc-file icon short-cuts (if selected during the client-side install) have been corrected. Note: The Model7.pdf file under the servers \doc folder needs to be renamed to model70.pdf to complete the correction.

The updated client-side install has been included in network version products shipped after April 1, 2008. However, the primary client system, which uses the full install, may still have problems accessing the help file. In this case, simply run the existing, client-side install on the primary client system to set up the local references.

An Unhandled Exception in application

Today I started working on another network and after 5 minutes I got another error message. I think that was an issue last time, cause I got this message last time and ignored it.

The error message states that an unhandled exception has occured in my application.

Lexical error in file "Illegal character in numerical constant"

Hello Everyone,

I've been working on a network for a couple of weeks. I'm not an experienced user, I'm still learning the software.
One day I ran the simulation and the program gave me an error message.
And the problem is that I can't fix it, it gives me the error message and never opens my network. I wish I saved a copy of it as a backup but I did not. If anyone knows how to fix it, please let me know.

The error message is "Lexical error in file, line 365 column 82, Illegal character in numerical constant"

"missing d3dx9_24.dll" when launching VisSim 7.0

Hi All,

The release of version 7.0 includes enhanced graphics capabilities as part of its new feature set. Some of these enhanced graphics capabilities require the 3D display engine provided by DirectX v9c. If DirectX v9c is not installed on your system, VisSim will fail to load and will display the "missing d3dx9_24.dll" error message.

Unfortunately, there are many "flavors" of DirectX v9 running around, and early releases of v7.0 required a particular "flavor". However, we have recently uploaded new versions of VisSim 7.0 that are less sensitive to the version of DirectX 9 on your system.

To verify which version (if any) of DirectX v9 is installed on your system, click on the button in the Tray bar, select the 'Run...' option, type "dxdiag", and press . This will launch the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Near the bottom of the 'System' tab, there will be a field, DirectX Version:, which will display the currently installed version.

If your system responds with "dxdiag not found" (i.e., DirectX is not installed on your system) or a version prior to 9.0c, you can download and install it from here:

HVAC modeling

I am a student at Vermont Technical College working with one other student on our senior project, a heat pump clothes dryer.

I tried to view the HVAC models on the download page but have received 'cannot display the webpage' error. We are trying to show the effects the hot and cool sides of a heat pump have on the air that travels over them. If someone has a model they would like to share, I would greatly appreciate it and cite work accordingly.

Need Help for Model Wizard

Hi,

I would like to get some help for Model Wizard.

I used Tfid1.dat file to generate transfer function. I followed the steps given in the User's Guide Version 4 and used auto filter.

The numerator and denominator in the "ModWizOut.m" are:
num=
den=

But the transfer function is:
s2+1.4087497560193s+7.4253216916002

Syntax error

I am getting a syntax error 'line 23 column 1 need a command' when I am opening .inp files.
I am using 4.20-02 version. Is it a version compatibilty issue as I am not sure the files I am trying to open were made in the same version or different.
Any comments?

?Importing/Converting Hex or Text containing files

Are their ways to import hex or text characters and convert to useful numbers? I want to use VisSim to import a tab-separated-text file containing some Hex memory locations and Hex values and convert them to number values for use in a simulation. I would like to skip the intermediate step of using Excel to do the hex2dec conversion.
Excerpt from my *.txt imported file:

2225     000010B6       0x9
2226     000010C0       0x7
2227     000010CA       0xf
2228     000010AC      0x14

License transfer to Vista

I transferred my license from VisSim 6c to a flash drive before moving to a new computer. I'm running Windows Vista and have not been able to get my license to be recognized.

I have sent my information to Visual Solutions, but the codes sent back have not worked.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Derivative Block

Hi,

I am having trouble understanding what the derivative block does and if it works properly.

We are using Vissim version 6.0c.

I have attached an example diagram.

When I compare the derivative block with what I think it should do it gives confusing or no results. The results vary depending on the integration algorithm chosen.

Is there a problem with my installation of the software or just with my understanding of what a derivative block should do?

4 line tool bar

Hi,

I have the 4 line tool bar again. I think I know at least one cause for it. I occasionally need to see another screen when I am working with VisSim. Whenever I resize the VisSim screen so that I can see Excel at the same time, VisSim will force the tool bar to go to 4 lines, and it stays that way. I can't even pull it back to full screen. Let me know when you have a fix.
