MD Chill U-14 looking for a catcher and pitcher

The U-14 Maryland Chill currently has 2 roster spots open for a pitcher and catcher. The Maryland Chill U-14 will participate in 4-5 fall tournaments this year and 10-11 tournaments this spring and summer. We will practice indoors through the winter months. The MD Chill has multiple "specialty" coaches including hitting instructors, catching coaces, and pitching coaches. Last year the U-14 MD Chill won USSSA states, and qualified for multiple World Series.

Where: Churchville Lightning Training Facility

Who: This camp is open to all skill levels, ages, and team affiliations.

Summary:

This 8 workout camp targets the areas of receiving, defensive positioning, blocking balls, fielding bunts, passed balls fundamentals, throwing mechanics, foot work, blocking the plate and conditioning. Also the event dives into working with a pitching staff, calling a game/pitch selection, detecting weaknesses in hitters, taking control of a game and communicating as a leader on the field.

Requirements: Desire to become a great catcher and the ability to work hard.

Takoma Fire Orange 14-17 Tryout this Saturday

Do you or someone you know want to play competitive fast pitch softball this Fall?

Takoma Fire Orange is conducting a TRYOUT to fill out our Fall roster on SATURDAY AUGUST 30 from 10 AM to 12 noon at the Blair HS softball field on University Avenue in Silver Spring, MD. The rain date will be Saturday, September 5, same time and place.

T. Fire Orange is one of two Fire teams playing this Fall in the Fairlnad Fast Pitch League for High School players. Girls currently in grades 9-12 who play softball are eligible for our Fall team.

Fire Orange will practice for 6 consecutive Saturdays, beginning September 13 from 2-4 PM at the Blair HS field. The first hour of practice will feature a hitting clinic conducted by Jillian Calloway of Five Star Athletics.

Fire Orange games will be played six consecutive Sundays starting September 14. The format calls for two games a day, played back-to-back, with a short break in between. Total elapsed time should be under three hours. Games are played on the fields at Fairland Regional Park in Laurel MD.
