Furious and frustrated after the weekend shooting of a 20-year-old Coastal Carolina University student, Myrtle Beach City Council members said Tuesday that they do not want motorcycle rallies in the city any more.

A group of local ministers and a bike-rally event promoter spoke to the council at a morning workshop Tuesday and implored the city to help them "do something" about the behavior they witnessed during the past weekend.

Other groups have complained to city officials in previous years after the Atlantic Beach Bikefest biker rally and the Harley-Davidson spring rally.

"I experienced something ... enough is enough," the Rev. Tim McCray told the council on Tuesday. He said he and others had not slept for the past four days during the Atlantic Beach Bikefest, staying up to get a firsthand look at the parties that have for years concerned residents and prompted complaints. "They were up there partying, doing things they shouldn't be doing."

Grand Strand Connection is an umbrella group that is trying to help solve "issues that threaten the harmony of Myrtle Beach," said McCray, the group's founder.

The group is bringing together local officials, clergy, hotel owners, restaurants and other groups that plan and hold events geared toward bikers to make the spring and fall bike rallies more organized.

McCray said he witnessed public sex acts and other behavior, not among the sport bikers who traditionally have come to the area during Memorial Day weekend, but among the 16- to 20-year-olds who arrive by the carload to party during weekend rally.

"We know the NAACP has you locked down," McCray told the council. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has sued the city and area businesses for what it has called racist behavior during the Atlantic Beach Bikefest, which is visited predominantly by blacks and happens around Memorial Day weekend.

Others argue that those who come to the Atlantic Beach Bikefest - whatever their race - don't behave properly, don't respect the city and its residents and cause more trouble than they are worth financially.

The NAACP has monitored the Bikefest and the Harley-Davidson spring rally to make sure people are treated fairly at both events.

Myrtle Beach Councilman Mike Chestnut, who appeared visibly upset by the weekend shooting of CCU student Corey Brooks, asked McCray and the others what they expect the city to do to make bike rallies more successful.

"Why should we invest in this event when we don't in any other?" Chestnut asked. "Let me tell you what's going to happen. The City Council is going to shut it down. We're not going to have a 20-year-old shot because someone is too cheap to pay for a $20 parking space."

Police have not confirmed a motive in the shooting.

Hakim Harrell, an event promoter, said he understands the city's concern, but hopes more organized activities scattered throughout the city would draw people away from Ocean Boulevard.

"We don't care which rally it is, we'd just as soon stop them," Mayor John Rhodes told the group.

"We don't need them," Rhodes said. "We can fill all the hotel rooms without bike weeks."

Boss of Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte has overseen major growth at the track for 33 years

H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, one of stock-car racing's great showmen, will take his final bows as president of Lowe's Motor Speedway this weekend.

The Observer has learned that Wheeler is retiring from his post at the track where he has served almost equal parts as businessman and ringmaster since 1975.

"Great events people create the illusion that something is going to happen at an event that's so great and unique that you've got to be there," Wheeler once said when asked about his philosophy as a promoter. "Then they make that illusion become reality."

Wheeler said Tuesday he could not officially confirm nor deny he will end his tenure at the track as he oversees his 33rd running of the Coca-Cola 600, NASCAR's longest race.

But sources confirmed that Wheeler, 69, is leaving. He is working on a deal for a book about his more than 40 years in racing and will likely do more episodes of "The Humpy Show" for the Speed cable network, which aired a one-hour debut in January.

Howard Alden Wheeler played football at the University of South Carolina and was an amateur boxer, but a lifelong fascination with the automobile eventually won out.

He came to what was then called Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1975 after Bruton Smith regained control of the track Smith had helped build in 1960.

For the next 33 years, Wheeler helped make Lowe's Motor Speedway a model for the modern race track and build Speedway Motorsports Inc. into a company with a market capitalization of $1.17 billion. Wheeler shared in the wealth. According to SMI's annual report, Wheeler's 2007 compensation totaled $1,185,258.

Lowe's Motor Speedway has more than doubled its seating capacity to around 160,000 seats during Wheeler's tenure. He was there when condominiums were built in Turn 1, when the track added a Speedway Club restaurant that's open all year and when Speedway Motorsports Inc. went public.

Wheeler has been a friend, an advisor and a mentor to scores of race car drivers, some like Dale Earnhardt who went on to become the sport's biggest stars.

Through it all, however, he's kept his perspective.

"We'd had a great event and we were sitting there talking one day," said Ed Clark, another former employee who now is track president at Atlanta Motor Speedway. "He looked at me and said, 'Don't start feeling too satisfied. If you do, put on some old clothes and walk down the street to see how many people will pick you up. You'll quickly realize you're no different from anybody else. Don't get too proud of what you've done.' "

AMSTETTEN, Austria (CNN) -- Family members at the center of a bizarre incest and imprisonment case spanning 24 years have held an "astonishing" reunion, medical officials say.

"They met each other on Sunday morning," clinic director Berthold Kepplinger told reporters Tuesday. "And it is astonishing how easy it worked, that the children came together and also it was astonishing how easy it happened that the grandmother and the mother came together."

Investigators say 73-year-old Josef Fritzl held his daughter, Elisabeth, captive in a cellar for 24 years. He raped her repeatedly, they say, and eventually fathered seven of her children.

Elisabeth and two of her children were reunited Sunday with three of her other children and her mother, Kepplinger said Tuesday. The three children and her mother lived in the home above the cellar.

Elisabeth's eldest child, 19-year-old Kerstin Fritzl, remains in hospital.

A seventh child died years ago, shortly after birth. Fritzl told police he burned the infant's body in a furnace.

The story of the family's imprisonment began to unravel a week ago, when Kerstin fell seriously ill with convulsions and was hospitalized.

Austrian police Wednesday denied reports that they were investigating possible links between Fritzl and the unsolved murder of a woman.

Franz Polzer, director of the Lower Austrian Bureau of Criminal Affairs, said Fritzl had owned an Austrian hotel near where a woman was found murdered decades ago. However, they were not investigating the incident at this stage.

Meanwhile, an Austrian girl who was held prisoner in a basement for eight years said the family faced a long period of adjustment.

Natascha Kampusch was 10 years old when she was kidnapped on her way to school in March 1998.

She escaped from a bunker below the house of Wolfgang Priklopil in a suburb of Vienna in August 2007. Priklopil killed himself by throwing himself under a train only hours later.

Timeline

1977: Elisabeth Fritzl claims she was first abused by her father Josef when aged 11.

1984: Elisabeth is allegedly lured into house cellar, drugged and handcuffed by her father. She is forced to write letters saying she has run away.

1988: Her first child, Kerstin, is born.

1989: Elisabeth gives birth to her first son, Stefan.

1993: Nine-month-old Lisa is left on the doorstep of the Fritzl house.

1994: Another child, Monika, arrives and is adopted by the Fritzls.

1996: Elisabeth gives birth to twins, but one dies after three days. Josef allegedly burned the body.

1997: Alexander, the surviving twin, joins the children upstairs.

2003: A letter from Elisabeth arrives saying she had a second son, Felix, the previous year. He is raised in the cellar.

2008:

April 19: Kerstin is taken to that hospital after falling serious ill. Doctors discover that her grandfather is her father.

April 20-27: Josef releases Elisabeth, Stefan and Felix and tells his wife they are returning.

April 26: Police pick up Josef and Elisabeth near the hospital where Kerstin is being treated.

April 27: Josef admits his guilt after Elisabeth's statement.

April 28: Police search house and discover cramped cellar with special security door.

April 29: Josef appears in court.

"Although they are now in a secret location, I believe it might have been even better to leave them where they were but that was probably impossible," she said of the Fritzl family Tuesday.

"Yes, because that was of course the environment they were used to and now they're somewhere else. Pulling them abruptly out of this situation, without transition, to hold them and isolating them to some extent, it can't be good for them."

Officials said Tuesday that DNA testing had confirmed Fritzl fathered the children.

His DNA also was found on a letter sent to the Fritzl family that was made to look like it was from his daughter, Elisabeth, said Polzer.

Authorities said Fritzl sent other letters over the years, leading the family to believe that Elisabeth was a runaway who had abandoned three of her children on their doorstep. He dictated at least one of the letters to his daughter, they said.

Authorities said it did not appear that Fritzl's wife, Rosemarie, was involved in or knew about her husband's activities. She had talked to her friend, Gertrude Baumgarten, about one of the infants left outside the Fritzl home.

"She said she believed her daughter had had the child with someone from cult and couldn't take care of it. That's why Elisabeth laid it in front of the door.

"And she said, 'Well, what can we do? We have to take the child in,'" Baumgarten said.

"She never knew that something was so very wrong there," she said, and added: "I believe it would be fitting to get a rope and hang him. Such a pig!"

Reports have surfaced in The Times of London and Austria's Presse that Fritzl was convicted of sexual assault in the 1960s, but there is nothing in his record to confirm this, said District Governor Hans Heinz Lenze. He added, however, that records were expunged after a certain number of years.

Prosecutors were checking archives to find the information, said Gerhard Sedlacek, prosecutor for the state of Poelten.

The Times of London quotes a 50-year-old neighbor who said that when he was 10, he remembered "how we children were afraid to play near Mr. Fritzl's house because of the rumors that he had raped a woman and spent some time in jail for it."

Fritzl led police to the cellar on Sunday. A day later, he confessed to raping his daughter, now 42, and keeping her and their children in captivity, police said.

Fritzl was able to convince social service workers, friends and family that Elisabeth had run away in 1984, when she was about 18. The father, who police described as an authoritarian figure, forbade anyone from entering the cellar.

In the cellar with Elisabeth were Kerstin and two sons, aged 5 and 18.

Lenze told the The Times that Elisabeth, her children and her grown siblings would be offered new lives and new names. "The name Fritzl has been muddied," he said.

Police said Tuesday they had searched other properties belonging to Fritzl, to make sure there were no similar situations. Nothing had been found.

Also Tuesday, a judge ordered Fritzl to remain in custody. The judge did not say how long he will remain detained. He can be held for 14 days without formal charges while the investigation is under way, and that amount of time can be extended.

Some neighbors have lived in the area for 30 years, and not only knew Fritzl, but also knew Elisabeth as a youngster, said Maria Otto Pries, who has lived in the area only three years and did not know the family.

"Many people have shaken his hand and said hello and gone to the same bakery with him and had a coffee with him at the coffee shop," she said. "The scarier fact is that it happened just around the corner

Bike Week 2008: Black bikers' numbers grow, fuel business
DAYTONA BEACH - The black bikers at Bike Week will tell you there has long been a black-biker scene.

There might have been fewer bikers. Or they may not have been as visible.

Now, a motorcycle heavyweight is taking notice
Following the booming success of black-biker events across the country, Harley-Davidson is revving up its efforts to get more black motorcyclists on Harleys. This year, it's building its presence at the Daytona street party where black bikers have been congregating since the 1970s, on Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard.

For the first time, the company has parked one of its big-rig trailers at Daisy Stocking Park, just south of the boulevard, and brought in celebrity entertainment.

According to a recent survey, 7.9 percent of those who buy new Harleys are minorities and that percentage has been inching up slowly during the past several years.

Washington, D.C., biker Jeremiah Wright, a rider for 25 years, thinks there is a brighter spotlight on black bikers.

"We've been riding for years and years but the mainstream didn't really recognize us," said the 52-year-old biker. "But so many of us are riding now, and spending the money, they'll pay attention to us now."

They're hoping to find more motorcycle converts, such as D.M.C., the hip-hop artist best known as part of the iconic 1980s group Run D.M.C.

D.M.C.: 'Universal camaraderie'

Though he had worn the Harley gear for years, D.M.C., aka Darryl McDaniels, just learned how to ride last year. Now the owner of a Fat Boy, he loves the motorcycle scene.

"It's about the people. That's what really attracted me, all the people from different walks of life," said the rap artist, enjoying his first taste of Daytona Bike Week. "It used to be considered rock 'n' roll, white-people stuff. But it's not really about color.

"There's a universal camaraderie. I can sit here and talk with a white man, 68 years old from Wisconsin, and we can talk motorcycles like we've been friends for years," the 43-year-old hip-hop artist said.

The black-biker scene looks much like Bike Week on Main Street, with long rows of Fat Boys and Gold Wings parked alongside Ninjas. Bandannas, leather vests, and leather chaps or denim jeans remain the standard dress code.

But when the passing traffic isn't roaring through, a CD salesman blares Bob Marley and the vendors' booths feature not only the typical patches and T-shirts, but also might hawk tubs of African shea butter or soul food. A disc jockey blaring hip-hop mixes and classic R&B inspired a club of black female riders to start some impromptu line dancing.

And the boulevard showcases club logos for the Buffalo Soldiers, the Nubian Kruzerz, the Black Tigers, the Freedom Riders and Dark Shadows.

The history of black bikers stretches to the early era of motorcycles, to riders such as 1930s Harley owner Bessie Stringfield, who was the first black woman to travel cross-country solo. One of the oldest black-biker clubs, the East Bay Dragons of Oakland, Calif., was formed in 1959, just a couple of years after a Hells Angels club formed in that same city, as chronicled in the book Soul on Bikes, by club founder Tobie Levingston.

Biker recalls street races in '70s

Daytona's Bike Week dates back to 1937, though the Bethune Boulevard party dates to the smaller cliques that unofficially raced on the side streets near the boulevard in the 1970s, Daytona Beach native Lenny Davis remembered. Anchoring that crowd was a motorcycle-repair shop just off the boulevard.

"It was just a few of us riding back then," said Joseph Ratliff, a Rockingham, N.C., man who has been riding since 1971. "But it's grown from word of mouth, and now the kids come up and they want to ride too."

Bike Week, both on Main Street and on the boulevard, has grown tremendously, as motorcycles have hit the mainstream. Daytona hosts a half-million motorcyclists for its rally, which ends Sunday.

Meanwhile, black-biker rallies such as California's West Coast Roundup or the Myrtle Beach Black Bike Week in South Carolina have been booming too.

Hoping to tap into that market, Harley-Davidson has been sponsoring bigger events at all of those rallies. "We're celebrating now what has always been there," Harley-Davidson director of market outreach Lynn Bonner said.

The company has even hired a black marketing firm, Lagrant Communications in Los Angeles, to organize those events and several Black History Month promotions last month.

"There is a large, untapped market of African-American and Hispanic riders," said Charisse Browner of Lagrant. "The dollars are there, and I'm happy that Harley-Davidson notices."

IF YOU ARE IN A BIKE CLUB OR WANT TO BE... YOU SHOULD READ THIS

	If you are in a bike club or want to be...you Should read this: BEAST DIGEST Oklets start off by saying that what I am about to tell yousome of you may already know. If you do already knowthen I implore you to help me spread this seed of knowledge: Check me out when I try to share with you my understanding of this very delicate subject. I am going to address a Rocker situation that is very pertinent to what it is we all desire to do. I am going to precede all of my statements with a question for you: If you saw some one wearing one of your club vests and that person was not a member of your club, what would you say/do? Would that even be a problem to you? (This question is rhetorical) I say this because there are different types of bikers out here. Not different as in better or worse but different as in the rules that we follow. Problem is that many of us are ignorant. Ignorant as in the literal meaning of the term WE JUST DONT KNOWso I plead with you to educate yourself and others with all that I am about to pass on to you! I will take it a step further for those in fraternal organizations: If you saw someone wearing your Masonic/OES symbol or fraternity/sorority symbol and they were not a member of your organizationwould that be a problem? (Another rhetorical question). I have said all this because the world of the Outlaw is much different than that of what most of the bikers in the world are. Again not better or worse but different in that the Outlaw follows a different code of ethics and have standards by which they are judged. In my interactions with the Outlaw biker I have nothing negative to say about them. I have had very good interactions with them, based upon the idea that I respected them and did nothing to infringe upon their way of life. In reciprocity they have done nothing to infringe upon my Life Style. Notice the choice of words. I love my bike and the bike world. That is why I try to stay so involved. The Outlaw on the other hand lives a bikers life. What that means to you is totally up to you to disseminate; yet I think that most of you in measurement will agree when I say that the depth of allegiance to your colors is not comparable in reality. If you believe that it isthen you may need to seek out and fill yourself with the knowledge to correctly pursue that way of life! Now in the end I will pass onto you the history of the 3 Piece Patch as I have researched itbut the SOLE REASON behind this writing selection is to pass on another piece of information that I think will benefit us all, as I have had it explained to me and as I understand it. What I want to talk to you all about specifically is YOUR BOTTOM ROCKER! As I understand it: the bottom rocker is supposed to signify where you and your club Hail from! As an Outlaw club your bottom rocker has a State on it. Not a city and state but just a state! The reason: Outlaws claim states! They claim the entire state in the Outlaw world! So if your bottom rocker has a state with no city in front of it then either you are an Outlaw club or you are perpetrating (faking) as an Outlaw! No go back to the questions I asked earlier in BOLD and BLUE As an MC, SC, RC or anything other than an Outlaw you should have a city before any state on YOUR BOTTOM ROCKER! Now I know that some of you are looking at this and thinking every type of thing that you can think. I myself tried to share this with my local MC scene last night at my bike night over the microphone. I was met with mixed reviews. I only thought to share this because I care. I hope that you all care about your clubs and your world too. The reality of the situation is that the Outlaw clubs are not bad people by any means. They do not intend to take over or regulate our world. Matter of fact they intend to do nothing of the kind. They only want us to respect their world and not infringe upon it! I think it is a fair trade. The alternative is to have unnecessary drama based upon something that couldve been avoided from the jump. With the ignorance that I spoke of earlierWE NEED TO DO OUR BEST TO SPREAD KNOWLEDGE TO PRESERVE THIS THAT WE LOVE SO MUCH! Addition: If you are in a bike club...you Should read this: BEAST DIGEST Additionally for those clubs that have members in more than one state for example: MD/DC/VA...Many of the clubs in this area have multiple members in close proximity although different states! It may be a good thought to figure out where your original chapter or home address is and use that City and State for your club's bottom rocker! The AMA wrote an article in their magazines stating that 99% of their members were law-abiding citizens and only "1%" are outlaws. This then began what today is known as Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs (OMG) and 1%'ers. These clubs were then banned from all AMA events and functions. In order to designate themselves as outlaw clubs to all other clubs, the 1%'ers cut their club patches into 3 separate pieces. The top rocker identified the club name, the center identified the emblem or crest of the club, and the bottom rocker identified the STATE from which the club was located. The term colors is used in referring to a motorcycle club's patch setup. Rockers on top and bottom, patch in the center. Because all three parts are separate, the term three-piece-patch is used. The only time a non-member is permitted to wear the club's colors (and this varies from club to club) is ONLY when worn by a FEMALE passenger riding with the club member. Always ask to take a photograph of a club member and/or of their bikes. If granted permission (and you usually will providing you asked first) NEVER take a picture of the license plate area. In the event you do start taking pictures of a "biker" on the road, do not be offended if he "flips you the bird" or gives you the "solo finger salute" as this is actually a common friendly gesture in the biker world.

Oklets start off by saying that what I am about to tell yousome of you may already know. If you do already knowthen I implore you to help me spread this seed of knowledge:

Check me out when I try to share with you my understanding of this very delicate subject. I am going to address a Rocker situation that is very pertinent to what it is we all desire to do. I am going to precede all of my statements with a question for you:

If you saw some one wearing one of your club vests and that person was not a member of your club, what would you say/do? Would that even be a problem to you? (This question is rhetorical)

I say this because there are different types of bikers out here. Not different as in better or worse but different as in the rules that we follow. Problem is that many of us are ignorant. Ignorant as in the literal meaning of the term WE JUST DONT KNOWso I plead with you to educate yourself and others with all that I am about to pass on to you!

I will take it a step further for those in fraternal organizations: If you saw someone wearing your Masonic/OES symbol or fraternity/sorority symbol and they were not a member of your organizationwould that be a problem? (Another rhetorical question).

I have said all this because the world of the Outlaw is much different than that of what most of the bikers in the world are. Again not better or worse but different in that the Outlaw follows a different code of ethics and have standards by which they are judged. In my interactions with the Outlaw biker I have nothing negative to say about them. I have had very good interactions with them, based upon the idea that I respected them and did nothing to infringe upon their way of life. In reciprocity they have done nothing to infringe upon my Life Style. Notice the choice of words. I love my bike and the bike world. That is why I try to stay so involved. The Outlaw on the other hand lives a bikers life. What that means to you is totally up to you to disseminate; yet I think that most of you in measurement will agree when I say that the depth of allegiance to your colors is not comparable in reality. If you believe that it isthen you may need to seek out and fill yourself with the knowledge to correctly pursue that way of life!

Now in the end I will pass onto you the history of the 3 Piece Patch as I have researched itbut the SOLE REASON behind this writing selection is to pass on another piece of information that I think will benefit us all, as I have had it explained to me and as I understand it. What I want to talk to you all about specifically is YOUR BOTTOM ROCKER!

As I understand it: the bottom rocker is supposed to signify where you and your club Hail from! As an Outlaw club your bottom rocker has a State on it. Not a city and state but just a state! The reason: Outlaws claim states! They claim the entire state in the Outlaw world! So if your bottom rocker has a state with no city in front of it then either you are an Outlaw club or you are perpetrating (faking) as an Outlaw!

No go back to the questions I asked earlier in BOLD and BLUE

As an MC, SC, RC or anything other than an Outlaw you should have a city before any state on YOUR BOTTOM ROCKER! Now I know that some of you are looking at this and thinking every type of thing that you can think. I myself tried to share this with my local MC scene last night at my bike night over the microphone. I was met with mixed reviews. I only thought to share this because I care. I hope that you all care about your clubs and your world too. The reality of the situation is that the Outlaw clubs are not bad people by any means. They do not intend to take over or regulate our world. Matter of fact they intend to do nothing of the kind. They only want us to respect their world and not infringe upon it! I think it is a fair trade. The alternative is to have unnecessary drama based upon something that couldve been avoided from the jump. With the ignorance that I spoke of earlierWE NEED TO DO OUR BEST TO SPREAD KNOWLEDGE TO PRESERVE THIS THAT WE LOVE SO MUCH!

Additionally for those clubs that have members in more than one state for example: MD/DC/VA...Many of the clubs in this area have multiple members in close proximity although different states!

It may be a good thought to figure out where your original chapter or home address is and use that City and State for your club's bottom rocker!

I was copied on an email that started some very interesting dialogue I thought it would be great to find a central location to have this discussion so here it is.

I think many of us have mulled over the decision to try something new and head for Miami or stick with tradition and partake in all of the festivities in Myrtle. With the ever changing rules of Myrtle (pay $10 this year to get to Atlantic Beach don't pay this year etc) Should we move our money to FL or stay in SC, where we all have had many great times and memories (awww the memories lol)

What are your thoughts on Myrtle and Miami for Memorial Day in 08.

Aight, MC family I would like to inform everyone that we are finally getting some extra exposure from the large motorcycle magazine about BBW. It was to my surprise that Motorcyclist (October copy) did a story on BBW and covered many of the issues that we have dealt with for the past few years. They covered the extremely high tickets that some of us (including me) received along with the road charge of $10 to access a public road that is normally ridden free of charge and not to mentioned it was not done for Harley week.

You will find the article quite interesting. If you didn't know or take notice to the larger corporations such as Harley,Suzuki and a few other local shop that put on stunt shows and displayed new bikes and other activities for us this year which was not done in the past. This was an attempt to revamp the image of BBW.

We all need this type of exposure to show that we the mc community which was 350,000 plus clubs and individual riders generate a large amount of revenue for Myrtle Beach and they make us feel very unwelcome.

In addition they cover the local club that made it all possible for this to take place the Carolina Knight Riders MC. This is the club who paved the way for us so pay homage and swing by their site and show some love. Please buy the current issue of Motorcyclist and read the entire article since it's not posted online as of yet.

This is the type of exposure that we need from large magazines and organizations....Hopefully we the motorcycle community can have the fun that we use to have at Myrtle Beach!! Only safer and more organized!!!

Aside from them not wanting us there, there's really not enough room to accomodate everyone. That, mixed with the heat and gas fumes you suck in by sitting on your bike while stuck in traffic creates a bad combination and things are bound to get out of control...
Compare the number of fatalities in Myrtle to Miami this past holiday season...see my point.
Stop going and giving your money away. save it for another venue. With all the sportbikers in the community, hell we can rent a small island and do our own thing each year...but we're too small minded for that.

ok, off my soapbox...just use your head folks. and that's my ramble for the day...

Riding is a Privilege

Riding is a Privilege. If we, as motorcyclists, join together, we are powerful. And I do not care what machine brand you ride, or what style of riding you prefer ( street, drag strip, road, dirt, or trail) . If the Safetycrats in DC have their way, we will be required to wear "DOT-approved" helmets, and then have catalytic converters installed on all our bikes, then have AIR BAGS installed. The reasons they state, is that Hellmets ( spellling intentional) will save lives. What they do not want to understand is that to prevent deaths on our highways, the number of crashes must be reduced. And that can be done thru education, of both young riders, and the motoring public.

The State Motorcycle Rights Organization here in Georgia, is called ABATE, which is an acronym for American Bikers Active Toward Education ((not:
Another Black And Tan Edsel )). This group is actively involved in the State Capitol trying to get the legislators to understand the Bikers have Rights, too. We are FOR non-discrimination against motorcylists as to the places we chose to park our bikes (( ever seen a "no motorcycles" sign on a parking garage or lot in Atlanta?)), where we chose to wear our "colors", the sub-divisions in which we chose to live.

If you agree that we, as a minority, are being the victims of discrimination, you should consider becoming active with us to help change the perception
that the caged public has of us.
