Does anyone else here loathe the resident?

everything about her. her annoying, nails-on-chalkboard voice. Her inability to remember pre written lines for more then a few seconds. Her ridiculous opinions that 100% of the time miss the most basic and essential point of the issue (such as defending health care without ever even saying the word "taxes"). Her constant screams for attention, and stupid shirts like "you're NOT famous" that no respectable person over the age of 16 would wear.

Her generic topics. What next, same sex marriage? Why not the war in iraq? Abortion? There's always the death penalty. The beaten horse corpses of yesteryear.

It's like a blendor of every buzz word and CNN media debate that you'd never want to hear again, all mixed into one big stupid video.

Plastic Surgery is a Culture Killer!

Hi..Didn't find a link for website problems, but wanted to mention that for me this interview freezes 2 : 13 minutes into the piece.

I believe there are some improvements that are beneficial, but like anything too much of any thing isn't good. My father had droopy eyelids which eventually hampered his sight and he had that fixed. Now my own eyes seem to be headed that way. Consequently, if it becomes an annoyance I have no problem correcting it. I do believe people need to be less superficial.

Shhh! Don't Talk About Politics.

Hello everyone

Draconder here with my first ever post on the forums. I am a student living in Southampton in the compact island that is England. I have been online often for a while and browsed a few forums and thus lead to my first topic.

I hear a few members of the online community mention two important unwritten laws and that is "Don't talk about religion and politics." and I have seen what happens when people do no matter how well meaning their point was.

You can clearly see this with The Resident's great videos on YouTube with a fair few flames flying all over the place. What makes this place and the people within it so different from the others that are so easily insulted?

It came to a surprise when I found the forum expecting twitchy flamers and finding a cool bunch of people. Now for my tea and biscuits.

Draconder - The dragon

I Can't Take it Anymore!

I got a chuckle out of the Resident's Latest Rant about American presidential political campaigns. Apart from comparing from it with her ever doting mother, Rezzie appears ta borrow a line from the 1976 movie Network, in which Howard Beale played by Aussie actor Peter Finch, stands up and says, I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not gonna take this anymore!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dib2-HBsF08

I'd say that the Resident deserves no less than the YouTube equivalent of an Oscar for this one. Best Performance by a Lead Actor (Actress?). Well, you decide. Love the dramatics and the camera movement in this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Zbpd_6f7xM

"I can't take it anymore!"

Was the Resident a Beautiful Baby?

It's somewhat amusing and funny that the Resident compares the US Presidential election campaigns with her mother's constant dotings and reminiscences of her as a Baby. But hey...maybe her Mummy had a reason ta do so, eh? I mean, like, with that Mug of hers that Rezzie flashes on YouTube all the time, and with all these MenFolk ogling her, kin ya blame poor Mummy, Ms. Lori Resident? She probably misses the times she held ya in her arms and had her entered in all of those Baby contests. And don't ferget the Children's talent shows, eh? Maybe sometime the Resident'll post a pic or two of hers, a beautiful childhood past. Perhaps thats why Mummy can't get over the fact thatcher all grown up now.

Myself, I caint say I was ever afflicted with this childhood 'cuteness' disorder. Far from it, probably the opposite. I was kind of a rough kid. Got inta lotsa scraps, always went aroun' with pant holes near the kneecaps. Almost got ran over by a car as a Kid. But somehow I survived.

Obama Leaning Towards Communism

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df2p6867_pw

If I were an American I would be opposed to what he plans to do with community service. As a Canadian though, I think it's a great idea, as long as it doesn't spread here. He essentially wants to extend highschool by two years and make you do community service to pay for it.

OnceAPunAThyme's Billion Channel Universe coming to a Theatre Near You

Yup, you heard it here. Borrowing a chapter from the pages of OnceApunAThyme's cookbook of ideas, a widescreen flat panel in every American living room by 2016. Personally, I wouldn't mind were such a prediction to come true. The Resident's mug on a 48" widescreen flat panel at fullscreen/fullsize when I wake up in the morn' b'fore work. An older, wiser, but still photogenic Resident to fill up the screen. Or OnceAPunAThyme's legumes blasted on the YouTube of the future. Would be a riot. A howl. And who knows? By then perhaps the Resident'll be a family person by then with a Lori and Tomato Jr. filling her days. But perhaps not. Maybe she doesn't want to think about it.

And Steven of the future, on his 119th identity after the other 118 have been deleted by himself or others, on Live Internet TV, still proposing marriage to Lori after all these years, even tho her husband, Tomato Harfenist implores him from the umpteenth time that she's already married. So...when I've come out with some great commercially viable ideas for video on the Web, I'll be sure to attribute them to none other than....OnceUponAThyme.

Hey Willard! DOW JONES is really gown DOWwwwwwn

Well, the Dow keeps dropping, shaving off 166 points. It's DOWnnn by 1.46%. That's a lot. Have any more bad days like these and the percentage spread'll keep gettin' worse as the value of the stocks are worth less. Perhaps the Dow needs a new name like the UP-Jones index or sometin'.

So Willard, what's your prognosis--does GM have fighting chance, or is it a sick patient in its last throes on its deathbed? Any 'hidden' buys in these distressing times? Any good sectors besides oil to invest? Maybe there's an upstart Apple or Microsoft we'll all hear bout which is selling on pennies on the dollar right now that'll be the next big thing since the Macintosh computer.

Lookin' fer bargains in a down market is probably like searchin' fer a needle in a haystack, eh?

Hi, hi, Resident :)

I'm sorry that I haven't been worshiping you.

I pray to Greek Goddesses, sometimes the Roman God Bachus. But that's about it, if you understand where I'm coming from :socialdrinker:.
http://www.baoshenmoonlight.blogspot.com

But anyways...

I really enjoy your shows and your forum is a place for me to disperse my knowledge to the general public, because my philosophy is that you can reach the general public by education.

So this is what I specialise in.

I educate the general public about morality, but modern society is mostly based upon disinfo. So I figure the government don't know what morality means, I learned about morality from Eastern philosophy. Eastern philosophy was for me a reason to study Western philosophy, because I am a Westerner.

Confucius, Lau Tzu & Buddha are great inspirations to me.

But that's Eastern philosophy, that's why I turned to Western philosphy with writers such as Thales of Miletus & Aristoteles.

You like Hip Hop music?

I'm too much into the hardcore Hip Hop music, got a nice playlist for youtube.

Get natural tooth paste

Hi people...

I've had a discussion about toothpaste today, basically toothpaste with fluoride is bad for your brain.

So stay away from fluoride products.

You'll get over the fluoride effect if you follow my detox recipe, which is basically use natural life style products. Alcoholic drinks & Green tea will clean you from oxydants, so when I talk about homeopathy then it's important. Drinking milk will also help a lot, because milk is absorbant.

Natural tooth paste without fluoride is better for your health.

Why Relgion is so important for American politicians.

It seems odd that politicians Down South always end their speeches with "God Bless America," or "May God protect America," etc. And it's so incredibly important what Church the person went to or whether company employees go to Church and which denomination they belong to. At least that was my experience working at a couple of American corporations in the States. If you didn't go to Church, esp. theirs, ferget it. You're thought of as some outsider who doesn't share in common beliefs. It's probably a lot worse now since Bush and the Evangelicals took over the White House.

But even Barrack Obama, presumptive Democratic nominee, is beginning to sound like a preacher from the pulpit, with his recent initiative to expand faith-based programs:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080701/ap_on_el_pr/obama_faith

In Canada and much of Western Europe, nobody gives a hoot about what religion their leaders or employees worship. In fact, they bend over backwards to detach their personal beliefs from the political agenda and to keep Church and State separate. Their leaders hardly ever invoke religion in their speeches. In France, it's expected that the Presidents, PM's take up Mistresses, house them, etc. And the people are no worse off for it. They have a comparable standard of living, great social benefits and relatively stable society.

Might be an interested topic of discussion for future Residential shows.
