CA-1 Governor lever details wanted

Hello from downunder Australia.

I am about to start restoration of a CA-1 which I have had stored for many years. A former owner replaced the original Zenith carby with a downdraft Stromberg on a snorkel. To facilitate connecting the Governor rod, he cut the original lever on the governor and re-welded it to suit the angle required for the new carby. I want to use an original Zenith and need to redo the governor lever. Does anyone have a close-up photo of the governor showing the lever and also a measurement of the length from say the centre of the governor output shaft to the centre of the hole for the governor rod clevis pin, please.

Thanks
Dave

Grease fittings on CA-1

How do the original grease fittings work on the CA-1. They are not like modern grease fittings but are kind of button shaped. Do you have to have a special grease gun for these and if so what are they called. Do most of you leave them original or do you replace them with modern grease gun fittings?
Thanks.
Keith

Pictures of our Clark CA-1's

Thought I'd introduce myself. My dad and I have 3 CA-1's. None in operating condition. We had one completely apart and got sidetracked with some obstacles we didn't know how to overcome. We think we have them figured out know. In the mean time we purchased another, nicer tractor back in December and have decided it would be a better tractor to restore so now we have it almost completely apart and are hoping to get it fixed up by this summer. Pictures and more of the store can be seen at this link:
http://www.herculesengines.com/clarkair/default.htm
We plan to eventually have two tractors restored and most of another one left over for parts.
I have lots of questions so I hope you don't mind me posting them here.
Keith

Preparation for painting

Our CA-1 has more rust than paint. We have it about torn down. What have others done to get the metal ready for paint? Chemical dip, wire brush and scrapper, sandblasting?
Once it is cleaned up what kind of paint do people recommend? Is this a spray application or can they be brushed?
Thanks.
Keith
