Best way to produce poster size image

I am in my terminal studio for architecture and have been using podium for a while. I want to do one large exterior "money shot" of my building probably a 24"x36". What would be the best way to produce that sort of large image in podium. I've tried the default.xml with the largest size in podium 3,000 something cant remember off hand. I then interpolate it with photozoom and run unsharpen mask in PS. Is that the best I can get. It looks pretty good but not great. Thanks for your ideas,
scott

Forum: Main Messages Board

i need to re-create this lighting effect

ok ok i know the rules about posting but im gonna have to break one. we are doing this renovation project for our art museum and glass gallery and the images attached are renderings done about this time last year when they were in the first preliminary stages of design. a buddy of mine who went off to grad school do most of the model and rendered them in kerky (yeah i know, trust me i spent hours trying to get him to swing the podium way!). anyways the final presentation is coming up next week and my boss really likes the spot light effect to engage the art pieces. ive tried every way i know but i cant seem to find a way to get it perfect. ive tried using a cone, grouping it and giving it a light factor but the wash effect is too light and the burn spot is like 10x's as intense. if anyone could help that would be awesome. thanks

Forum: Main Messages Board

Lighting through window

I have a question... I have been researching the site... and ive been trying to figure out how to get really good lighting through the windows... and its been discussed to an extent... I can do regular lighting just fine... But im trying to use a baked on transparent image and have light omitting through that? Is this possible? If i use a background LEM light its makes the image completely white... no matter what.... and if i use an omni i cant get enough light through? Im sure its something i need to continue working with to figure it out... But if anyone has any suggestions i would greatly appreciate it :) Thank you

Forum: Main Messages Board

Hi

I just purchased the full version of Podium, and have been trying to learn the ins and outs.

This is a work in progress shot of a simple loft apartment type interior, with a few of the lights from the downloadable light fixture plugin package. There is some post work in Photoshop, overlaid layer of a hidden line render from Sketchup, and then another overlay layer of paper texture on top of that.

Forum: Gallery
