Will taking an antibiotic on my pill free week stop my next packet of pill working?

Hi there,

Can you tell me if it is OK for me to take Zithromax antibiotics (1 of dose of 4 tablets together for Chlamydia) on my pill free week?

I take Logynon contraceptive tablets. If I take the antibiotics the day after my last pill in the packet at the beginning of my pill free week will I then be covered against pregnancy as soon as I start my next packet of Logynon? I am just concerned that I will not be covered for that whole packet of Logynon as perhaps the antibiotics will cancel out the beginning of my pill cycle and the pill will not work. Basically, how long do I need to wait before I am fully protected again?

Swelling Up

Hello,
I am a thirty-six year old single mother. I smoke cigarettes. I've smoked for over 20 years. I am generally healthy. I work for a temp agency and have no medical benefits. I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
The questions I have are as follows:
My body is swelling. At first I thought this was normal weight gain due to life stress (nothing unusual is happening), but I noticed that my feet are so fat that this cannot be normal. I have also noticed aching in my arms, legs, back, and feet. I figured out that my body is aching because it is swelling up. What could this be a symptom of? Also can you recommend any doctors in my area who may offer affordable or even free services so I can get this checked out?

When me and my boyfriend have sex, his cum will not stay in me. It falls out every time. Why is this? I know it cant be normal. Were kind of worried about it because we want to have kids one day and were afraid if his cum wont stay in me then I wont be able to get pregnant. Hey im big into weight lifting and i started 2 weeks of LG Science's "Methyl 1-D" as a prohormone cycle. Its supposed to run at 4 weeks at 6 pills a day. I only used 4 pills at the max for 2 weeks. Didnt see much and i was paranoid about shutting my normal test levels down so i dropped it and stated on the pct (post cycle therapy) of LG Science's "Formadrol Extreme." This is supposed to increase the natural testosterone levels. My libido is so low now and its hard to gain erections sometimes. I want to know if this is normal and how long it will take to get my levels back to normal.

Please advise ASAP. thanks for any help. all is appreciated

Hey, I am 38 years old. I have iron deficient hemolytic anemia. I had to have my spleen removed in April of this year. My hematologist/oncologist thinks I have Leukemia and is going to a bone marrow biopsy this coming week. I have had several blood transfusions and I have weekly iron (Ferrlecit) infusions. I have been diagnosed as being septic or having sepsis three time since April. My doctor panics and puts me i the hospital with antibiotics. The last time was a week ago. At that time my blood pressure went done to 64/48 and my heart rate was 188. They did the pulse ox and it went down to 81 but came right back up to 92. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days and felt a lot better but the I got a cold. Now my doctor is really concerned that I stay home and avoid going out in public or doing anything strenuous at all. My question is, is he being to careful or is this really that dangerous? He said that with a HGB of 7.9 and a high heart rate that he is worried about a irregular rhythm or a relapse of the sepsis. I feel OK. I am just wondering if he is over doing the cautiousness or am I not careful enough? Thank you.

I fell off my friends porch on sat it is now wed. on sat night i went to ER when it happened i heard a loud crack (left ankle) and i fell to the ground in pain. they did a xray and said it was a sprain. then i saw a ortho on mon. he did another zray and said it was very swollen and i tore a ligament. i can bear no weight on it at all. my foot is purple and swollen and i am having this line of pain under my ankle bone on the outside. its constant and very very very sharp. i cant take pain meds because of seizures. can it be broken still and they not see it. and can i actually request a cast.i am in terrible pain,

So, I have a ton of different symptoms. I'm not going to list them all, but my biggest complaint is fatigue. I've been battling through this for about 15 years now, but only started seeking professional help within the past 7. I've been tested for everything from sleep disorders to heavy metal toxicity. Everything comes back negative. I've seen several doctors and most of them want to treat me with uppers during the day and downers at night. This renders me dysfunctional and feeling sick. They also don't seem invested in finding out what is wrong.

So, the question is, how do I go about finding a doctor who is invested in exploring every last possibility in treating the cause of this fatigue and not the symptoms. Also, how do I find someone who won't look at me like I'm a hypocondriac? I had 1 doctor out of the 10 (at least) that I've seen over the past 7 years about this who said and showed that A: I wan't crazy and B: he was willing to do whatever it took to find the root of the problem and treat it. Unfortunately, I had to move out of the state he practiced in.

I'm desperate for help, which is why I'm on here. I'm tired everyday. Most days, it's just a sleepy, foggy feeling that I can cope with. Sometimes, I go through periods lasting a couple days to a couple of weeks when day to day life is unbearably difficult because I am just sapped of energy.

Please help!

Gross Question

This may be a stupid question and I don't know how to word it any other way THIS IS NOT A JOKE, BUT AN ACTUAL QUESTION: is it normal to occasionally have small amounts of feces between my butt cheeks? What happens is, I feel like I have a lot of sweat down there, then it gets really itchy. I go to the bathroom to wipe and find the toilet paper is soiled in watery/loose stool (not enough to stain my clothes, but enough to cause discomfort and squinchiness). I've been diagnosed with IBS. Could this be related? What can I do to prevent this?

P.S. My wife just read this and advised me to clarify. This is not a result of insufficient wiping. I fear that I have anal seepage/leakage... whatever the technical term is. HELP!

Knee Pain Years After Injury

Hello. My name is Dara. I am 21 years old and I have a question about my knee pain. Years ago maybe 7-8 years ago I dislocated my knee cap. I went to the hospital where they put it back into place and put me in a straight knee cast/stabilizer. I was told to go to physical therapy to strengthen my knee but unfortunately never went. Now years later I still have trouble with my knee. It "pops" in and out a couple times a month. My question is: What do I do to fix it? Do I go to the doctor and explain everything? Do I just work on it and strengthen it myself? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Depo-Provera

On October 16, my Doc basically pushed me into getting the depo-provera shot (even after I told her I did not want it because my husband and I wanted to start trying to have kids in the near future). I have been on birth control pills for 3 years, so this was my first birth control shot. Well when the nurse gave me the shot, she used a needle that was new to her. When she actually stuck me, I guess the needle did not go in far enough, and I ended up getting only almost half of the medicine into my body. The rest kind of just leaked out. She was not exactly sure how much I actually got, she just thought I only got half. Well they wouldnt give me another shot because they did not know exactly how much I actually got and I said no anyway. I dont know how much I actually got but all I know is that enough "leaked" out to go all the way down and start dripping on the floor off of my pants. But I know I got some of it because I have had some break through bleeding (My periods were extremely regular before I got the shot so I know this was the reason for the bleeding). My question is this: How long do you think this medicine will be in my body?? I know one shot of Depo-Provera can take up to 3-12 months to get out of ones body, but I did not get a whole dose! Will it still be that long before I can conceive? My periods have always been regular even before I got on birth control the first time.

Pain when waking at night

Hi there,

I would appreciate advice on whether this is something that needs further investigation or not. Lately, I am waking in the middle of sleep at night to find a pain on the inner right thigh. This pain is not evident during the day, but only when I am suddenly woken from sleep, as in when my heart is thumping and circulation is doing its thing when the body is sleeping, it seems that this is what brings the symptom on. The pain is sharp and sensitive to a spot and area around it, seeming to be just underneath the skin (sensitive to touch), it feels like a nerve or in the artery/vein. Clot? Aneurism? Nerve? The pain will last the whole night until I wake and get out of bed and will not be there until the next bedtime. Another new thing going on, dont know whether related, is that I have been having some kind of twitch in my right eye (that may be due to right sinus passage clogged, guessing) that is quite regular for the past few weeks/months. I take Lipitor on a regular basis and have had an incidence of very mild (left eyelid droop) myasthenia gravis more than maybe 15 years ago, that went away with medication. Thank you for you help.

Scar tissue from too many shots- help

I'm 44 and have had type 1 diabetes for 28 years. I'm 6'1" and 170lbs. I did 4 injections a day 3R/1NPH for 24 of those years until getting approved for a pump. Due to inadequate site rotation and reuse of insulin needles I have a fair amount of tender scar tissue in my abdomen area that don't seem to be going away even after 4 years of no more needles. (I rotate my pump site every 3 days)
My Question- will abdominal exercise help to remove the tenderness/scar tissue or is there a medical treatment that would help? A1Cs in the 6.6 - 6.9 range but have quite a constant rollercoaster of bloodsugar values - this improved with the pump but I fear the absorption is affected by the scar tissue. What do you suggest? thank you,

Shaking Hand and Mouth Awakened Me From Sleep

I was awoken out of my sleep last night because my hand and arm were trembling/shaking and my mouth was opening and closing kind of like when someone is upset and getting ready to cry. I have never experienced this before. I have not been diagnosed, but I do believe I have sleep apnea also. I have been unemployed for a long time and I live in Michigan where the employment news regarding the auto industry was very bad this week. It bothered me alot because I've alread been unemployed almost 2 years and thing are getting worse, not better. Anyway, could this large amount of stress be causing me to tremble in my sleep? Or could it be a seizure...something physical?

Hello, I have a issue that concerns me and would like some Info. I have noticed for the past few months that I get slight stool leakage and have warm sensations in my front genital area, also a occasional discharge when I urinate. I also am beginning to have a very strong odor in my urine and in my genital area. There is no pain when I urinate, I use antibactirial soap and I have not had unprotected sex. Thanks
