Crime rates in Spring Valley

Hi,

I'm posting from Seal Beach, Ca. My wife and I are interested in buying a house in Spring Valley. The area looks nice and the house prices are relatively low. My wife checked out the community via the web and found that the crime rate is double the national average and more than four times where I happen to live now.

Is this true? If so, why? Since Spring Valley is an unincorporated area, I notice that there isn't a police force, just the San Diego Sheiffs. Is this part of the reason?

I hope I can generate some posts on this because this is an important issue with us and we'd like to know more.

Spring Valley Cam

After 10 plus years, i retired the old spring valley cam and installed a new one. http://www.springvalleyca.com/Camold.html bye bye little buddy!

The new one looks around and takes pics from many locations. Greatly improved in pic quality also.

I will be moving it up another 20 feet in the next few days so we can see the coronado islands.

I should be able to take daily live recordings and post them. will work on that

weather station is going in next, Like i have at my NC house at http://www.hubertnc.com
