JFK 50miler registration

JFK registration is now open... a number of Solers have been talking about it, and it's a great first 50 if you're looking for a new challenge. It's a ways off, but the race fills up faster each year. Here's the announcement:

Dear 2008 JFK Team Participants (and those on the fence),

As most of you already know, the JFK applications have been posted-
we are starting to collect your applications and will be formulating
the teams this month. Our system remains the same as years past. Here
is what you do:

1) Print off the application from the JFK website at
www.jfk50mile.org <http://www.jfk50mile.org/>
and fill it out.

2) Mail it, along with the $135 (gasp) check made out to "CVAC" to
Anna (women) or Jim (men).

Strongsville Rec Triathlon

We are having a triathlon here at the Strongsville Recreation Department with a 1/2 mile swim, 10 mile spin, and 5k. The spin will be on our Johnny G spinners. August 16th at 8:30am, teams are welcome, please respond with any questions!!!!!

run for fallen, cool thing i saw on cnn

kinda neat thing this group is doing, they started in california on flag day and are running cross country to arlington national cemetary on aug. 24 some 4000 plus miles, 1 mile for each soilder lost in iraq. at each mile they place a flag and a little posting about each soldier. the website is pretty cool and you can track their progress. worth a look...

Good luck to Marty, toeing the line for 50 miles at Mohican this Sat. Race starts at 5:00am, and he can have a pacer after the Fire Tower at 18.6 if you're looking for long slow distance... beautiful course, and you'd have 18 miles to convince him to walk more and switch to the 100miler at the Grist Mill...

Saturday Runs start time now 7:30am

We usually move to 7:30am starts on Saturday and most of the Ready To Run and Heart & Sole and Blue Angels groups are starting at 7:30am.
