A belated Happy Thanks Giving Day to all my 2/2 Brothers...But, before this day comes to a close I would like us all to say a prayer in honor of our fallen Brothers from Alpha and Charlie of the 2/2 who gave their all at the Battle of Loc Ninh on November 29, 1968. It has been forty years, but seems like only yesterday since we lost our best of the best in this battle. May they be remembered today and always...All gave some, some gave all!

I just got this from LTC Miska. I will post additional information as it becomes avaliable. If you are sending Christmas packages to Iraq or Afghanistan you should plan on getting them in the mail within the next week. Check with your local post office for the mailing deadlines.

Tom,
We just got the correct mailing address yesterday. I will fly tomorrow,
so the situation is a bit fluid in Iraq right now. That being the case,
we should be there in two weeks or so. We expect to remain there for a
short duration 60-90 days and then move again inside Iraq. I will keep
you updated. Thanks for keeping us in your prayers.

I was with 1st of 5th Arty at Bu Dop. It was 40yr, ago i think the date was around the 22Three MEN GOT KIA. BY ARTY THAT NIGHT. they WERE NFG THAT JUST CAME UP THAT DAY FROM QUAN LOI WITH ME. We just got out of tiger school at quan loi.The squad leader took the new guys out on ambush that night. He was to take them to check point B' BUT : because they had gooks on the wire the night before. He took them out just a few clicks' AND told them too be quiet. But the LP heard them; So he called Sarge' and said are you at check point B? He said yes. So the FO Called FDC . my GUN GOT THE MISSION TO FIRE THREE ROUNDS OF HE. We FIRED TWO rounds.They said check fire". THE REST is history.I think about them every CHRISTMAS. I AM SO SORRY! ALL I CAN SAY IS GOD BLESS AND REST IN PEACE!

I know you are humble but I get the feeling your short changing us (you know me always the buck), how about a few pictures of you and my beautiful Cuz Carm (if I know you, you got a few) and a little explanation of the awards you both hand bestowed on you.

May I be the first to say they couldn't have picked two more deserving warriors then the two of you. Please give her my best, enjoy your holiday and explain to all the other guys on the board just what the hell I'm talking about.

OK guys, the big day is a week away, so let's get a little interaction on FOOD!!! I realize this can be a HOT subject for us chowhounds, so let's keep the yelling to a minimum.

I'll start it off. Got a butterball The IGA has a yearly deal, if you spend so much there over a 2 month period you get a free turkey. Earned two, so donated one locally. Will do fairly basic, just for 2 of us. Turkey, mashed and sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, pretty standard. Let's hear it guys, my mouth is watering already.

She worked with him and he knew my father who was KIA in Dec of 1967.
