CD Recommendation

Well, Y'all - There's one that Y'all need to get - It was released TODAY (Although, the Ol' Dawg happily secured my copy last week). And, that would be "Brand New Set Of Blues" by The Williams & Clark Expedition, members of both the Ragin' Family and the Upper Management Family. Tasty picking, wonderful singing, and some mighty powerful songwriting is featured here - This album should do great things for Blake, Kimberly, Bobby, and Wayne. Special guests include Claire Lynch, Tim Crouch, Jonathan East, and Buck White. There's a wide variety of songs and tempos, with sumpthin' for everybody. Highlights include the uptempo title cut, "Brand New Set Of Blues", the covers of "Ridin' That Midnight Train" and "The Tennessee Waltz" (Which, incidentally, I have NEVER heard sung any better than the performance by Kimberly on this CD), the fiery instrumental, "Jalapeno Quickstep" and the equally incendiary gospel tune, "Travelin' Heaven's Road", the swing tune, "Goodbye Heartache (Hello You)". Ballads are in good supply here with "Destiny's Highway" and "Heaven On Earth". The centerpiece of the album, however, is the gospel song, "Marching" - All this song needs is to be heard by enough people, and, it could very well become a gospel "standard" - It's that good !!! Closing out the album, as with their last one, is a comedy track by Blake. The striking thing about this album is the quality and strength of the songwriting, along with the carefully chosen "covers". Ain't nuthin' like a good and well-written song, and there's no shortage of 'em here. Truly, one of the Ol' Dawg's "Pick Of The Litter" CD's for 2008.

     Have been sick for over 5 days....missed 2 days of school (I'm a teacher)
Went to dr. , diagnosis: bronchitis, coughing fits that make me feel like I am riding a bucking bronco...Doctor's remedy.....3 day antibiotic, but am still barking. (cough, cough) Any remedies out there? I've been trying to get rest, very tired, but must teach tomorrow....concert in less than a week.....Dr. did NOT suggest shotz in buttox ...what is a bluegrass gal to do?  Dr. Herb, are you out there? Any "herb" al medicine ideas to cure me?
