Austin police say they need help finding a missing 11-year-old last seen at a bus stop near Akins High School Thursday morning.

Police say they are concerned about his safety.

Marquel Alexander is black, has brown eyes, black hair and a dime-size scar on the back of his head. He is 5'2" tall and weighs 125 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt and black high-top Nike shoes. Police say he was also carrying a black backpack with green and white and a "Jordan" logo.

DESCRIPTION: This 2-1/2 day course will address critical, practical, and investigative tools, federal legislation and resources YOU and YOUR AGENCY need to know to effectively respond to reports of missing adults. This is a MUST-HAVE training for law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. Topics covered are: Definition and Scope of Missing Adult Problem; The Family Perspective and Victim Impact, Application of Federal, State and Local Supporting Resources, DNA Methodologies, Developing a Model Policy and a Comprehensive Multi-Jurisdictional Community Assessment Plan, Leveraging Media Resources, Legal Considerations, and Practical Case Development.

NOTE: This training is designed for investigators, detectives, college campus police officers, police academy instructors, dispatchers, and policy makers.

PREREQUISITES: Law Enforcement, Jails, Court Services, Communications

PRIORITY: Class size: 50

IN-SER CREDIT: 16 hours CDE / 4 hours legal / 0 Cultural Diversity

TUITION: $ 295 regardless of Academy affiliation. Make checks payable to Academy.

Rachel Cooke disappeared in 2002.

A Georgetown college students parents are trying to generate new leads in the case of her disappearance six years ago.

Rachel Cooke was last seen about a block from her home while out for a jog. She was home from college for the winter break.

I don't know if I've known anybody as in love with life as her, her mother Janet Cooke said.

Their love for Rachel is unyielding, but much has changed in the lives of Robert and Janet Cooke. They divorced after Rachel's disappearance. Both left the home where Rachel grew up.

Everywhere I looked reminded me of her. This is where we had the pinata party. Her handprints were on the shed we built, Janet said.

The Cookes believe someone abducted Rachel after watching her jog the same route. She wore earphones, something they think kept her from being completely aware of her surroundings.

There are joggers out there with headphones on, not paying attention to what's going on. In the past I used to stop and say something to them. But lately there's so many. You can't stop everybody, Janet said.

But they will stop at nothing to keep Rachel's story in the spotlight, because they believe someone knows what happened to the 19-year-old.

Was she very safety conscious? Not as much as i'd like. I bought her some pepper spray and bugged her to carry it, Robert said.

Hundreds searched for Rachel. Her parents carried on an active search for eight months, and psychics came calling.

They have her all the way from California to Mexico to Rhode Island, Robert said.

Robert has reached out to other families. He even visited Aruba once to look for Natalee Holloway.

The Cookes' own struggle goes on every day. Janet says sometimes she just goes through the motions, but she doesn't quit.

I won't let whoever did this win that battle, she said.

It's a battle that doesn't go away. Credit companies wouldn't let Robert close Rachel's accounts, so collection agencies still call a few times a month asking for her. Some find the story hard to believe.

At first you can't believe someone would harm her. She was such a good soul, Janet said.

The sheriff's office says tips are running thin right now.. But they check out every lead. There is still a $50,000 reward for information in the case.

A convicted killer once claimed he murdered Rachel, then recanted. Robert said Michael Keith Moore is still considered a suspect.

Rachel's parents plan to hold a ceremony at her alma mater, Georgetown High School, on Jan 10, the date of her disappearance.

another year has gone by and things have moved on and still no answer to what happend to your loved one :(
I wish year 2008 will finally bring you closure to this nightmare. You are so brave and strong people. Wishing you all the best for 2008 and you're still in my prayers every day.

Searching for birth mother

I am searching for my birthmother. Her maiden name is Patricia Ann Howard. She was born on January 5, 1940. Her parents were Fredrick and Sybil Howard. She was born in Batchelor, La. Kyle Fleischman is missing in North Carolina under strange circumstances

Kyle Fleischmann is a 6'0", 24-year-old male with brown hair.
He has a muscular build and weighs approx. 180lbs.

Kyle was last seen early Friday morning (11/9/07) around 2:20am in Uptown Charlotte, NC

leaving the Buckhead Saloon on 5th Street and College Street.

Fleischmann was wearing a black shirt, jeans, and black dress shoes.
Kyle left his black pea coat at the bar along with his credit card. There has been no usage of his bank funds since.

It is not known whether or not Kyle took a cab or tried to find a ride home.
His last contact was 3 phone calls made around 3:30am Friday morning to friends and family.
He did not leave any messages and his cell phone has been off since.

Kyle Fleischmann is a graduate of Elon University.

Unsolved Mysteries coming back on Spike?

There is a ground swell of internet posts lately that say that Unsolved Mysteries, the show most notably on NBC, CBS, and later in syndication on Lifetime and Lifetime for Women will be returning to the airwaves next fall (2008) on Spike TV.

Perhaps this case could make its way back to the airwaves. All I know is that keeping the story out there only can help to find this person(s) responsible.

Here's hoping for the best in the meantime.

Bake Sale on Dec. 1, 2007

Rachel Alert Network will have another double booth at the 2007 Georgetown Christmas Stroll. We are in need of baked goods donations again this year. The stroll will take place on the square in Georgetown from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2007.

We registered as a food booth so we only will be selling food and bottled water. This will also keep is simplier for the volunteers to work the booth. We will have an Austin and Georgetown drop-off point for the baked goods on Friday, November 30th.

People like to buy things at the stroll that are small and can be carried easily. With food items they usually eat them while they walk around. This is why we are asking for individual items in baggies. We will be selling whole cakes, pies, and loafs of bread but we perfer people give us items already divided up. Last year we tried to sell whole cakes and pies and we had to almost give them away.

If you would like to donate baked goods or bottled water (16 oz) for the RAN bakesale please e-mail info@rachelalert.org .

Events at the Chistmas Stroll include a parade and of course Santa will be there for the kiddies. Before and after the parade people walk around and visit the booths and stores on the square in Georgetown. It's one of the few times the stores stay open until 6:00 p.m. (remember the sidewalks usually roll up at 5:00 p.m. in a small town)

Please read about my Missing Mom: Diana Harris and Missing Person: Tom Stump. We believe their cases are linked even with their disappearances being 14 years apart from each others. We also believe they are no longer living. My Mom may be buried in a back yard and police refuse to dig the yard up because of the cost is too much and I am now trying to find a way to make this happen. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
I believe I have suffered a long enough pain of not having my Mom in my life and feel this is the least they could do for me. She may not be buried there, she may have been dumped in the ocean, however the owner of the home she disappeared from told me she may be there. The owner later denied saying this to police, however him saying this was all they needed to reinvestigate her case in 1995, only to come back and tell me they couldn't dig the yard up because it had been cemented in. The house is online for sale today and doesn't appear to have ever been cemented in.

Please read both of their stories and tell me if you too can see the links in their cases. I not only believe that my Mom was murdered, I believe that Tom Stump new about her murder and was killed because people were afraid he was going to tell police what he knew. Tom's wife and her 1981 husband Mark Ripin lived in the same house located on No Name Key as my Mom did at the time of her disapearance. There are many more reasons then this to believe the cases are linked. Thank you to all who take the time to read their stories. My prayers are with all missing persons and those who have lost a loved one.
