How Governor Sarah Palin is superior to Senator Barak Obama in leading the nation into the future

Our beautiful soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is the best future leader for this nation, not Senator Barak Obama. Our beautiful soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is also would be better at leading our nation in the future after a McCain Presidency than Senator Barak Obama would be in leading our nation in the future starting in January 2009. There are great reasons our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin would be a better future leader than Senator Barak Obama. The greatest reason for our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin's is ideology. Our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is conservative in that she is pro life, marriage, guns, low taxes, low government spending, small government, unintrosive government, traditional and judeo Christian values, Bible reading and prayer in our public schools, and military spending.She is also pro free and private enterprize. Senator Barak Obama is a liberal who is anti every thing that I have described that our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is pro about or for. A second reason that our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is superior is because of experience. As a governor she has two years of executive administrative governing experience that Senator Barak Obama does not have. A final reason that our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is superior is because of political accomplishments. When our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin came to office she accomplished 3 major things which are as follows: she showed great leadership in the 3 following areas: government reform, the state budget and the economy, and wise use of natural resources. She reformed government by standing up to the big oil companies by breaking up the monopoly on power and resources. She insisted on competition and basic fairness which ended the control that the oil companies had on the state, and thereby returning control of the state back to the people. She also stood up to the special interest and lobbyist, and produced major ethics reform. She lead well in the state budget by generating a surplus which came about by vetoing a half billion dollars of wasteful spending, ending the abuses of earmark spending by congress, and by getting rid of the private jet, the chef, and the chuffer. Economically under her leadership she brought about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history. She also suspended the state fuel tax, and when oil and gas prices went up dramatically, and filled up the state treasury, she sent a large share of that revenue back where it belonged - directly to the people of Alaska . On natural resources she has shown great leadership by beginning a nearly forty billion dollar natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence. When the last section of the pipeline is laid and its valves are opened, will lead America one step farther away from dependence on dangerous foreign powers that do not have our interests at heart. Senator Barak Obama has done nothing, so please vote John McCain for President and give to our beautiful soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin the opportunity that she deserves leading the nation into the future after a John McCain presidency. When our soon to be Vice President does lead the nation as President after a John McCain presidency,she will be the greatest President that we have ever had. Finally she is smarter than Senator Barak Obama

Gas Prices

OPEC is cutting production because oil prices are dropping. See, this is why we can't get complacent about the recent drop in gas prices. We're not the ones calling the shots on oil prices. They decide to cut production and we get higher gas prices.
BTW, twice now I have pulled up to the pump and the price is actually lower than the price that showed on the gas station sign. That was a nice treat.
I wonder why the gas prices are always about 20 cents higher in Dahlgren than they are up in King George. I've been buying my gas at the FasMart or the Q-Stop lately.

Truth about McCain

In order to make an informed decision about this election I think it is important that we hear the truth about McCain.

It is outrageous that the media has not brought out McCains lies and adultery while married to his first wife, Carol. While she was sick and in need of tender loving care from multiple operations from a major car accident, he had an affair with Cindy and then left her. To me, this is a man of dubious character who thinks only of himself.

He committed adultery, and, in fact, got his marriage license with Cindy before he was divorced from Carol. His first wife, Carol, did all she could to help when he was a prisoner of war. Yet this is how he thanked her when he returned from the war and found that she had lost her model looks? I dont think this is the kind of man we want as President.

Share your ideas on cutting back and saving money

I'm sure almost everyone is feeling the money crunch right now in some way or another. We are having to tighten our belt as well.

I try to make a food menu out and stick to it.
I clip coupons
I try to combine my trips to Fredericksburg when I have to go.
I freecycle (love that).
I try to shop at the farmer's mkt, Aldi's, Bottom Dollar, and anywhere else I can find lower prices.

Do you have any other good ideas to share?

What can I do?

I just moved here from a large city....and I'm having a hard adjusting because there doesn't seem to be much in the way of activities or social events. I'm an outdoor enthusiast, so I take advantage of the natural setting.....but I'm stumped as to how to maintain any kind of social life. Any suggestions?

I was watching the news this morning and saw an ad for a luxury car. It's great - your car will tell you where to get good steak and skiing conditions. But then I thought that's great but with the price of gas can you afford to sit in your car and get all this information. Well maybe if you can afford that luxury car.
What was that Bruce Springsteen song - Pink Cadillac - something about not having to drive it. I guess you can just sit in the car and get up to date on the best places to eat and play.

Golf Carts crossing Route 205

It's been great to see golf carts parked at Food Lion. With the new law, golf carts can cross 205 at the light in front of McDonalds and then make their way on a trail to the parking lot at the shopping center. But be careful driving down 205, like little lost children, many golf cart drivers are crossing 205 at any intersection. I spoke to one cart driver parked at Food Lion who was absolutely positive it was okay to cross 205 by Union Bank. Perhaps the town government should better inform the public about the new law.

I hate to sound like an old geezer, you know, "In my day ...." with a quivering voice and shaking hand, but when we were kids we didn't have lots of clothes and shoes. I had a pair of loafers for school and Keds for gym or for playing at home. Of course we had to wear skirts to school, too. And in the summer we ran around barefoot. I don't know how we survived not having the latest clothes with designer names on them. Okay, now I am beginning to sound like that geezer.

When you were a kid, did you touch your girlfriend's breasts? Did you give your boyfriend a hand job? Did you dry hump on the beach? Did you French kiss? Did you grope each other in a parked car? If you did, that's sexual molestation of a child. And it's not too late; the statute of limitations on these kinds of things is very long now. Why don't you go turn yourself in?

Of course, if you did "fess up" and you are now an adult you may be charged as an adult even though you were a juvenile when the offense occurred.

How many kids do you think the law prevents from having sex anyway? Do they really think that having consensual sex or engaging in mutual molestation will result in their having a criminal record, being incarcerated and having to register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives? Or do they just think they might get grounded for a week if they get caught?

Is this method of keeping kids from having sex effective or is it just evil?

If you were the parent of a child who engaged in consensual sex, would you really want your boy or girl to go to jail for it? What a about a brother, sister, cousin, nephew, niece, granddaughter, grandson?

If you would, that would be really perverse, IMHO.

There used to be a joke told, maybe it still is.

"If a boy scout can rub two sticks together to make a fire, what happens if you rub two boy scouts together?"

There was no punch line as such. Most people understood the silent answer to that question. You get a different kind of fire.

That was then. These days you get a criminal investigation. And if the two boys are about the same age and size and the responsibility can't be assigned to one of them, then both must be criminally charged.

Of course, if the two boys are older, over the age of consent, everything is legal and fine and no one is put in jail for it. It's only if they are younger that they have done something wrong.

The Supreme Court has ruled that child pornography is a crime because a child is harmed by the production of the image. In these cases the child is both victim and criminal. Of course, anyone (often a friend of the victim/criminal) who knowingly receives the image, keeps it, and/or forwards it to someone else is also guilty.

So what happens to these kids if they are convicted? Then they are placed in institutions where real sexual abuse (as opposed to consensual sex) is common. How ironic.

How Do You Feel About The Silver Rezoning Denial?

Last week KG supervisors denied the proposed rezoning of the southeast corner of the intersection of Routes 3 and 301 from A-1 (lowest intensity use agricultural) to C-2 (second highest intensity commercial use). The vote to deny was 3-1. Cedell Brooks voted against the motion to deny which James Mullen disqualified himself from voting because of a potential future business conflict.

Opinion at the May 20 Public Hearing was tilted in opposition to the proposal, which was a very long and complicated arrangement.

How do you feel about the denial?
