The Podunk team has worked all year to put together a musical event that showcases the best in bluegrass. We need each person reading this message to tell your friends about Podunk and encourage them to check out the "Best Kept Secret in Bluegrass". It's great to attend the large festivals but if we don't support the smaller ones like Podunk they will disappear.
It is as simple as that.

Podunk Workshops

There are great workshops on Saturday being held at the East Hartford Community Cultural Center. The cost to attend all day is only $15 which makes this the best all day workshop for the price in the country. It is geared towards people who want to learn more about the music business, and is taught by industry leaders. You don't have to be a Bluegrass musician to learn from this workshop, anyone with an interest in the music industry and it's inner workings can benefit. So tell your friends about these valuable workshops.

How Are Going To Get More People?

So the big question I have for everyone is how do we get more people to attend Podunk. I know some people are happy with the size the festival is now but in order for us to continue our top notch line-ups we need to be able to pay for the performers. It's just a nasty rumor that they work for free.

We have increased our advertising in some select publications can you tell us where you have seen our ads?

If you are planning on attending other Bluegrass events before Podunk would you be interested in taking Podunk Flyers and either passing them out or putting them out with other flyers? Please contact me if you are interested and we will mail you as many as you think you can get out into people's hands.

Hey everyone,

First off, I just want to say to the people at Podunk who are reading this...nice job! I had never even heard of the festival until this year, and if I wasn't playing in the band contest, I probably would never have made it to the festival. But next year, I'll be there regardless, with chairs and sunscreen as well as instruments!

I've been waiting to see pictures from the festival for a while, and I can't seem to find any! Does anyone have any online anywhere?

Well I have decided to attend this year's IBMA in hopes to raise the awareness of Podunk. Let me know if you are going so I can keep an eye out for you and you can help distribute flyers and stickers I hope to have made up.

Since there isn't too much I won't try and tackle after a short discussion with Stan Zdonik of BBU and Kim Cyr of CTBMA we all decided to host an after hours showcase.

So check your program if you are going as we have a 300 seat hall on Tuesday and Wednesday to host the following line-up:

I'd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Podunk for making my trip worthwhile. All the staff and volunteers did a fabulous job in making this visitor from the UK feel so very welcome. Well, another one in the history books thanks to Paul, Roger and the entire Podunk staff and volunteers. Weather was grrrrrrrrrreat, music top notch and field picking (jamming) great at usual.

Remember to tell your friends what a great time you had at Podunk. As the slogan goes, "the best kept secret in bluegrass."

Lets make 2008 a banner year, the year Podunk arrives as one of the top festivals in New England. Put out the word, mark the calendar and tell all your friends.

Camping Entrance

although I have been to Podunk several times, I have yet to camp there. Is there a separate entrance to the park for arriving campers. I only noticed the same directions to the field next to the driving range?

Four days and counting. Weather looks great and lineup looks HOT. Paul and Roger have put together a great lineup as usual.

Lets make this Podunk Bluegrass Festival on to remember. (The festivals in the past were not too shabby either.)
