Positive Coaching

As a parent I would like to point out that coaching children with positive reinforcement does so much more to develop players - especially girls - than the critical "only point out what you do wrong" coaches. I hope that all of next seasons coaches will take the time to point out to their players the many things they do right and not just the few things they do wrong. It can make all the difference to your players - especially the ones that are struggling.

Pitcher Burn-Out

I know the pitching talent is spread thin, but for the older 16U and expecially the 18U age group we are being told more and more that some just don't want to pitch anymore. To put that many years of hard work and effort into it to give it up. I feel bad for those who burn out but totally understand it. How sad!

BLACKBALLING PLAYERS

I got a phone call from my daughters high school coach and she talked to the ROBERT MORRIS coach and he told her that the reason he never called my daughter was that her old travel ball coach(no names mentioned),told him some B.S. story that she quit softball and wasn't playing anymore and never informed him that she went to another team or anything.He is going to call us now and we will get the thing straightened out and while I knew he would do everything he could to SCREW UP schollie chances for us,I still think that is as LOW AS YOU CAN GET, TAKING SOME KIND OF VENDETTA OUT ON A HARDWORKING YOUNG GIRL.I was curious if anyone had any thoughts on this(i sure noone will agree with me)but I think that is as low as A PERSON COULD STOOP.HAIL TO PITT!SHADY FOR HEISMAN!!!
