Now getting your volunteer hours needn't be a guessing game. Just make sure you sign in and out on our new sign-in sheets! Every production from here on out will be using these sheets. As a back-up, you may want to print one out and have it with you when you volunteer for anything with Neo. Just contact me: terglewis@verizon.net and I'll send it to you. Woohooo! The EVITE went out on Monday, August 27th for Theatre Neo's 10th B-day Party!...Which is September 23rd, 2007 4:30p-9:30p! Come on by, and see some familiar faces, and meet some new ones! Here's a helpful tip from Emily Post in RSVP'ing... (or a new futuristic way to do it in todays day and age at the bottom):

FORMAL ACCEPTANCE OR REGRET

Acceptances or regrets are always written on the same day as the receipt of the invitation. An engraved form to be filled in is vulgarnothing could be in worse taste than to flaunt your popularity by announcing that it is impossible to answer your numerous invitations without the time-saving device of a printed blank. If you have a dozen or more invitations a day, if you have a hundred, hire a staff of secretaries if need be, but answer by hand.
The formal acceptance to an invitation, whether it is to a dance, wedding breakfast or a ball, is identical:

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lovejoy
accept with pleasure
Mr. and Mrs. Smiths
kind invitation for dinner
on Monday the tenth of December
at eight oclock

The formula for regret:

Mr. Clubwin Doe
regrets extremely that a previous engagement

In accepting an invitation the day and hour must be repeated, so that in case of mistake it may be rectified and prevent one from arriving on a day when one is not expected. But in declining an invitation it is not necessary to repeat the hour.

If anyone is interested in some extra cash, I have an opportunity thats easy (and very fun if you love dogs).

Im looking for some one to work the front desk at my Grooming Salon for 8 days in October so I can get married and take my honeymoon.

The details are as follows:

Days: October 4^th, 5^th, 11^th, 12^th, 16^th, 17^th, 18^th, 19^th

Hours: 8am to 1:30pm (break) and 4:30 to 6pm

Pay: cash $130/day

There is a lot of flexibility in the middle of the day. My head groomer Jorge can run the shop, so if you need to cut out for an audition, it would not be a problem, as he can cover you. The most important hours are opening in the morning at 8am to check in all the customers (doggies). Then working from 12noon to 1:30 during Jorges lunch break. At 1:30 you can split for 3 hour or so making sure to be back by 4:30 when most of the customers pick up their dogs and closing the shop.

The customers are all really nice and the doggies are so cute!!

Need Movie-Making Lesson Plan

I need an 18-week curriculum teaching middle-schoolers how to make a short film. I'm working for STAR Education, and our satellite program in Oxnard serves under-priveledged pre-teens and teens who would love to make a short film as their after-school project.

It's up to me to write the lesson plans, but I don't know a lot about filmmaking. If you have any advice for me, resources I could check out, or outlines for classes you've taught, I'd be very grateful.

If you have a wonderful curriculum that you've written, I might be able to convince my boss to buy it from you.

Dear Friends,

I am looking for a part-time employee who would be able to pick up some shifts for me during the month of October.

Branden and I are getting married this October as some of you know, and in order for us to take a honeymoon (mini honeymoon), I will need help at my store. In addition, we happen to have 2 other weddings to go to that month, both out of town. So I definitely need help.

For those that are getting this as a forward: I own a Dog Grooming store on Beverly Blvd. is West Hollywood/Fairfax area. I am looking for someone to manage the shop while I am away on the following dates: October 4 ,5, 6, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 26, 27.

Managing the shop entails, opening and closing the shop, checking in morning customers (cute doggies waiting to get groomed), answering phones, taking appointments, ringing up customers on the cash register, and looking after the shop in general to see that the doggies are comfortable, and that things are running smoothly. You will also be there "doggysitting" from 12:00-1:30 while the groomers take their lunch break.

IT'S VERY EASY. The day goes by quickly, and the dogs are very sweet.

There is some flexibility in the hours, but it's basically an 8 hour day with a 2 hour lunch. 8am to 6pm with a break from 2-4pm. If you need to take care of anything between the hours of 10am-12pm, my head groomer Jorge can watch the store for you while you're out. Salary is $13/hour.

It's an easy way to make some extra money for the Holidays (or for your bills).

2007 VOLUNTEERS FOR CAMP RONALD MCDONALD NEEDED

Since I'm the new Volunteer Coordinator at Camp Ronald Mcdonald for Good
Times (an overnight camp for kids with cancer and their siblings), I'm
looking for some volunteers for this coming summer camp season...!

This is for potential Volunteer Counselors any age that's 19 +, actually,
(even for those outside of California) to come and volunteer for at least
one camp session at a campground minutes away from Idyllwild, west of Palm
Springs, CA...It is unpaid, but paid with meals, a rewarding experience, and
good karma... :)

If you're interested, or know someone who would be, It's a great experience
and great to add to a resume, as well... meet new people, have a great, fun
time while doing somethin' good.

There is an interview process, and a great group of fun people to meet...
You can go online and see more about the camp, the requirements for being a
Volunteer, read some FAQ's, watch some quick flicks on it, and then fill out
