Hi Guys,
I was scheduled to have a biopsy in two weeks and had to go for the usual blood tests. Got a call from the doctor's office Friday to tell me that they are cancelling and I have to come in for a 'special blood test'.
Of course I have the weekend to worry. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.
KC

Acid reflux - Anybody else get the stomach of death?

hey Hep Cats! Just wondering if anybody else is getting alot of stomach acid on Pegatron. It was something that started for me very quickly into treatment and now that my 6 month regime is over i'm still living on upwards of 4 Zantec 150's a day. My tummy has always been a bit pussy and someone wrote earlier on the importance of water so I'm up-ing my water intake to see if that brings it back in line a bit.

As usual, more questions!

russ
Does it ever get better post Pegatron?

I've taken my last pills today of 6 months worth of Pegatron. I still feel sick and very out of control emotionally. Does it ever get any better? Can someone talk about what life is like after Interferon? Is there any truth to the permanent brain damage effects I read about on one suspect internet page. Can someone brighten the light at the end of my tunnel??

much love - russ
( My friend's mother said that he never tested positive before)

Thank you.
lexapro

I have been off treatment for over two months now and I am just getting off the Lexapro they perscribed me for anger/depression. It took this long to taper off. I was only taking 1/10th the dosage the last week and I am still experiencing the side-effects of coming off. Flu like symptoms, dizziness, trouble sleeping, skin crawling, heat flashes, etc........

This was a fabulous drug when I was on treatment and I highly recommend it to stop the depression and anger BUT holy crap it is a mess to get off.
Home from Liver Biopsy .Thank U 4........

To all of you who responded to my other LB post, I thank you so much. I was not as fearful. I had it done today, and it was not bad at all, just a little discomfort. The numbing shot went in like any other shot, and then I felt heat in that area. When he took the samples, I felt an unexplainable sensation. He took 2 samples. They bandaged me up, and I had to lay on my side for 3 hrs while in recovery. After that I walked about, ate, and came home. I will have the results when I visit my gastro April 21. That is another hurdle. Thanks again for your support. This board is so informative and has answered so many unanswered questions for me.
just dx, liver biopsy next. scared!! Upset!

Hello. I have been lurking here over the weekend. The other boards are slow. This past Thursday I was dx w/ HepC. I had blood transfusions in 1973-74. Without a doubt, that is where I got this. I am very upset needless to say. Up until the dx, I was very active and felt terrific.. Now I feel hopeless. My liver biopsy is this coming Thursday and am very scared.

The only liver elevations are the AST and ALT, but they are slightly elevated. The other liver tests are within norm. My Genotype is 1b and the viral load is 10,100,000.

Any words of comfort out there for me? I am a female, 58 yrs old. Is that too old for tx? Or too old to wait for new drugs? Or too old to handle the tx?
