TTPA Tack & Rummage Sale

Help support the Trinity Trail Equestrian and Hiking Trail by attending the Tack and Rummage Sale, Saturday, May 17^th from 8 A. M. to 5 P.M. at the Masonic Lodge Parking lot at the corner of Ballard (Parker Road-FM 2514) and Paul Wilson Road in Wylie, TX.

A large selection of horse tack has already been donated, including blankets, halters, bridles, reins, breast collars, lead ropes, lunge lines, riding pants, muck boots, bits, grooming equipment, and some brand new Ariat riding boots. There are also dog related items, books, electronics, clothing, furniture, decorative accessories and many more items.

All monies received will be used to maintain Trinity Trail or as matching funds for grants received to extend and improve the trail. The Trinity Trail Preservation Association members maintain the trail which runs from East Fork Park in Wylie to Highland Park in Lucas. Plans are underway to extend the trail northward another 10 miles to the border of Fairview and McKinney. Further information can be obtained at www.trinitytrailriders.org.

Truck for sale

I have a 1989 Chevrolet full size truck that has a 350 engine 5.7Litre and it get pretty good fuel mileage for its size.

It has real good tires on it, I just installed a new ac compressor, dryer and orifice tube and Evaporator Core.

It has an excellent heater.

I installed the factory radio with the amp and tape player.

Has a brand new seat cover on the seat.

New Battery, windshield wiper blades, new belt and power steering pump.

I am asking 1500.00 OBO for the truck

You should come look at the truck and drive it, if you drive it you will buy it.

The truck rides very comfortable.

I have not had to add any oil in the engine except for changing oil of course, and water the radiator does not leak.

This is actually a better vehicle than most on the road today.

135K miles, Black, leather seats (worn), sun roof, kumo tires approx. 80% tread wear left. Body has blemishes. Runs a little rough. Service engine light is on, we believe it is due to a miss firing cylinder (not sure which one). Could be a good deal for someone who can do the work. Thanks for looking!

Sky Ranch Fundraiser Pizza/Cookie Sale

My son will be going to Sky Ranch next year for his 5th grade field trip with CT Eddins Elementary. They are selling Little Ceasar's Pizza Kits and Cookie Dough. Legal question

Anyone on the board a lawyer willing to answer a question free of charge? If so, please private message me as I will not reveal your identity and you do not get a barrage of posts for legal advice.
Here is the question.
My neighbors trees have grown so high I no longer get any afternoon sunshine in my backyard. My pool used to heat up into the high 80's and was perfect for a relaxing swim. If I reach the low 80's now I consider myself lucky but chilly. I believe that I can trim any branches legally that hang over my lot line. That would do no good as the tree would still have enough branches and leaves over their property to effectively block the sun.
I won't even go into how much time I spend having get their leaves out of my skimmers and the bottom of my pool during fall.
Do I have any legal resource to get the sunshine back?
I live in McKinney.

Don't you expect that, before we spend $11.5M of our tax dollars, we'd actually see some detailed publicly-available analysis of why the Stars Center is such a great deal for the citizens of Mckinney? Yet, you review the MCDC website and see nothing about this project at all. Please come out and ask questions about this project at the May 6 Council meeting. Ask why the Duncanville Stars Center receives double the rent proposed for ours. Ask why we are buying land for $1.5M from a private developer for this project. Ask why we citizens only receive 124 hours of public skate time annually at the Center we will own.

McKinney's Big Dog Real Estate Developers, their lawyers, and brokers are determined to get rid of City Councilman Pete Huff. That much is clear. The evidence is contained in the latest campaign finance reports. They are lining up to give money to Sherry Tucker David. They've also given her sign locations on just about every commercial property in town.

These guys are not looking out for the best interests of the typical citizen, property owner, and taxpayer of McKinney. No, they are seeking to promote their own special interests by electing a public official who will better understand and accomodate those interests. They are businessmen. They will expect good returns on their investments. If Ms. David is elected, I am convinced that they will damned well get them!

People always say that big money and the entrenched real estate interests wield too much power and influence in McKinney politics. If we are unwilling or unable to look beyond the slick paper / fuzzy language / pretty pictures brochures, educate ourselves on the real issues, and VOTE, then we should not complain.

Property Tax assessments

Well, I was pleasantly surprised that our home value did not crash this year. Watching the mainstream idiots on TV you would think we were in a recession but the financials say differently. The Dow is back at 13K, GDP is growing, and the only thing that is not good is gas prices.

Anyone have any significant drop in home value? Channel 8 news showed some in South Dallas County with 20% drops in tax assessment. Mine went down, but not bad at all. Channel 8 also said that Collin County still showed an increase in property values.
