Older mom wanting info

Dr. Cooper,
A doctor from Bryan referred me to you. I had seen him about a possible tubal reversal. Because of my age ( 42 ) he suggested I try in vitro. I would like to know the chances of having a baby at my age. I have had most of the tests involved with having a tubal reversal, including sperm testing, everything is fine physically with me, how much of a part does age play when it comes to these types of procedures?

HI, i have a question regading estradiol number..mine was 812 on cd6...i was on follistim injectables..i was told to trigger on cd8 for iui on cd10...im just curious regarding that e2 of 812 what does it mean? is it normal?

i am homozygous MTHFR

In april of 2003 i had my tubal ligation reversed in hopes of having more children. it was a success and since then i have had 5 early miscarriages, i never had one before i had tied my tubes. i had a miscarriage panel done and found out that i am homozygous MTHFR with the C677T genes. i was not able to find a doctor that was willing to help me to stay pregnant, i am still longing to have another baby. the first couple of times after my ligation was reversed i got pregnant on clomid, and have found its harder to get pregnant on my own now, i am 34 yrs old, with my last child i was 23. i have searched on the interent and have found that i needed my homocysteine levels checked which i did and it was 6, i have started taking Foltx vitamin, a prenatal, a baby aspirin and a 800 mcg folic acid tablet. i had learned while searching on the internet that i needed between 3-4 mg of folic acid with the MTHFR. my last miscarriage was in sept of 2004 and have not been able to get pregnant since. would you consider helping me to get pregnant, i did have an hsg one year after my reversal and it was fine.

how do i get started?

I have 2 children 5 and 8 from a previous marriage. My current partner does not have any children. We have been tryin to conceive for a year now. I have no insurance, he does. How do I go about getting started for testing. And what costs are involved ( do I have to pay everything upfont etc..) Also, do I need to be referred by a physician to see a fertility specialist?

IVF in a patient with a tubal ligation

I had a tubal ligation (hulka clip). My husband and I each have children from a previous marriage, but we would like to have a child together. I am turning 40 next year, so a reversal is really something we do not want to consider. Would IVF be an option for us? We were both able to conceive children, so I wonder if we would have a higher success rate?

keeping cost down

Hello Dr. Cooper, I am a prior, soon to be current patient in Jan. 06. We had done the iui twice, and we had discussed ivf, which will be what we will do next. Now since I have done the dye spill at least 5 times (3times with you 2c with other fert. doc.) can I keep cost down by not doing that and anything else that has always come back with no problems to keep cost down?
