Important Info for this weekends P&P event

I have been asked to post the information below concerning this weekends P&P activities.

For all of those that are venturing down to London (in particular Wellington Barracks) for the Past & Present Activities please make sure that you are in possession of either:

For Military Your Army ID Card (MOD Form 90)
For Association Members a VALID P&P or Association card.

There have been incidents at past meetings at Wellington Barracks, some of which were viewed as potential security issues (not necessarily of Coldstream Capbadge).

All Military & Civilian Security Staff have been informed NOT to allow anyone into barracks without the required identification and example passes will be shown to the Guardforce.

Security Staff are aware that some will turn up without the required documentation and there will be a degree of vouching for others. In ALL matters the Guard Commanders decision (who is responsible for the security of Wellington Barracks) is final in all matters.

I think that ALL will agree that this statement will not come as a shock to anyone, and the reasons for it are for the security and enjoyment of anyone that is in attendance.

Please help support this statement and make the weekend as memorable as ever.

Redcar Half Marathon

Gentlemen,
              Results from Redcar Half Marathon, took place on Sun. 20th April,
on a very cold, windy day. Our three charity participants results where
1st Rob Kelly in a very creditable time raising 270
2nd Dean Moore also a very creditable time raising 132
3rd. Sgt. Dave Waters who also finished in April. raising 132
( He started when he left St. George's Dinner at 5.00 am, he received a medal for closing the Bar)
    What a fantastic effort from the Boys raising 534 for the Tommy Leech Appeal.
          Very well done, it was the coldest recorded since the Race began.

What a farce Prince William's visit was to Afghanistan, to play soldiers for what?.A sceptic might say it was a P.R mission, he only went out there because of his antic's with an helicopter flight to a stag party.Lets hope not because his flight back was with a body of a Trooper,a real soldier and hero who was killed that week.

Tommy Leech Appeal/Statement

Gentlemen,

I now have a cheque for 3,700 to hand over to the appeal.

This is the sum raised by you the Foot Soldiers and The Battalion while they were in Afghan.

We will arrange a Photo/Press Call with TFM Radio who are running the Appeal, this will not only raise the profile of Tommy but all the great Coldstreamers out there who have contributed.

Every penny raised has been paid into our Charity Coldstream Kids, this was so that the money was accountable and a visible banking centre.

That money has now been drawn out of the Charity Account and I have it to pass on.

Although there is various Coldstreamers with events planned in the future, I feel I as a individual have done all I can for this fantastic cause.

I will carry on making people aware of the on-going developments with Tommy and what the Charity is doing and will help where I can.

I must now devote my time to the important task of securing funds for all those of our Coldstreamer Family in need.

On behalf of all concerned and I wish to single out Bivi and Adam for their fantastic support.

May I offer our deepest gratitude for your kindness and care, proving once again we are Nuilli Secundus.

COMING HOME PARADE

My proposal

Since viewing the "coming home parade" pics, I have started to build
a slide show of them, for memorys sake that will go along with the
following songs.

Rod Stewart - Sailing
Peters & Lee - Welcome Home
Daddys Home - The Platters
Theme from Welcome Back Mr Kotter - Welcome Back
Cliff Richards - Miss You Nights
Westlife - Home

I did one of these for my parents 50th anniversary in 2006 and every
one in the family got one, including DVD cases, and fancy cover
on them Now with the co-operation of Shiny admin, Boro' Website, and coldstreamers.co.uk

I will be looking at sending them in bulk to the UK. BUT ,and here's the BUT, here's the price you will pay for such a keepsake, a mere 10 pounds,
because I dont want your money, I want your money to go to the Tommy Leech Appeal.

We'll give a week for some your opinions.

Last Flight in from Afghanistan

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the Battalion is now complete in Victoria Barracks after the safe return of Number 3 Company today.

This was the last flight back from Afghanistan and after spending about 24hrs in Cyprus number 3 Company jumped off the coaches on the main square and were met by the Commanding Officer, the Welfare Officer, the Regimental Sergeant Major and more importantly a HUGE crowd of loved ones who had been waiting patiently on the square for their return.

Heroes Welcome at the Boro

Gentlemen,
       It has now been confirmed that on Sat. 3rd May the Riverside Stadium will host the Welcome Home to the Heroes.
   The Reg. Band will travel up from London and will play on the Pitch for half hour before the Boro Match, during that period 60+ Boro Boys from the Bt. in Desert Combat Order will 'Tab' into the Stadium.
They will then March around the pitch to accept the welcome from their home town and for them to say thank you for the outstanding support the Town has given them while in Afghanistan.
   The Boys will then be the 'Guests of the Club for the remainder of the afternoon.
    If you are in the Boro, come down and see them, we will be the first of the 'Town' visits, come down and give them your support.
