Season Four Ratings

I've sort of been adding the ratings to each episode thread, and I'll continue to do so. But for those who want an easy way to keep track, here's a thread.....

The DVR results for IKWYDLS are in.

For "I Know What You Did Last Summer", ratings went up to 3.624 million, or an increase of 680,000. That is by far the largest DVR increase for the show to date. The average this season has been around 500,000. 23.4% of the ratings came from DVR.

What would Season 1 Sam and Dean Do?

Many have thought the boys seem, well, a bit out of character this season, maybe even last season, too. How about we limpSam fans have a little fun while we wait for the show to pick up in January by playing around with what has happened on the show and how we'd fix it to be the way Sam and Dean were in seasons 1 and 2?

Sound confusing? Well, it's pretty simple, actually. You just name an eppy and a scene and a way in which you think it should have gone differently or how you would complete it to keep it in line with the brothers of season 1 and 2.

For example: In the eppy I know What You Did Last Summer.....In the scene where Sam is stitching his own arm and Dean is in the background telling him to hurry it up cuz his shoulder hurts.....I think Season 1 Dean would have been way more concerned with Sam's injury, offering to help him even with his own shoulder being hurt, and I think it would have been a sweet twist if Sam had refused fearing his tainted blood might somehow be a danger to Dean should his mix with his brother's. Dean would have thought his brother was being all independent and been like "fine..whatever". Then later...Sam's worries could come out in a future eppy where Sam is really hurt and needs Dean's help and he refuses and eventually admits why when Dean pushes him hard to find out the reason. Of course lots of brotherly stuff would happen as a result...Dean declaring that he doesn't care if his blood gets "tainted"..that Sam's his brother and after all..."they're in this together"...maybe Dean could deliberately mix their blood so it is never an issue again! Yikes...did I just outline out a fanfic?..sorry about that..

Okay..so going back...to "play" What Would season 1 Sam or Dean Do".....the eppy is I Know What You Did Last Summer/the scene would be Dean caring about Sammy being hurt and offering to help him ignoring his own pain.

Get it? Anyone else think of an eppy or scene they would change or add to to bring back Season 1 or 2 Sam and Dean?

Thought I'd give us a place to discuss the season (without spoilers of course - those still go in the spoiler thread) and how everyone's feeling about it. This will let us save the spoiler thread for actual spoilers when they start to come out again.

And just to be clear, there is no right or wrong here. You can post about things you're happy and in love with about the show right now. You can post about things you're angry with and breaking your heart about the show right now. Heck, debate the merits of both! :) It's all free game - just a different location to discuss it.

But bring the cake on over, everything's better with chocolate. :D

Hi everyone! Hopefully you are all ready and keen to send cards filled with love for Sam. :D Thank you all SO MUCH for your encouraging and excited comments about this project. I am INSANELY excited about it myself and so is book_choco_loco. A lot of you had some good suggestions which we've taken on board and used to hash out details. And thank you to anyone who promoted this community! We've got almost 115 people watching, which means HOPEFULLY at least 115 cards will end up in Jared's hands. :)

I just got an email from Creation Con announcing a Supernatural Con in CHERRY HILL, NEW JERSEY (outside of Philadelphia) March 6-9, 2009.

I don't know if this has already been anounced somewhere else on the site... if it has let me know and I can delete this thread.... but just in case ya'll didn't know I thought you might want the info.

It looks like they've started selling their "gold tickets" and JARED has signed up.

Anybody thinking about attending? I may be able to get to this one.

Sera Gamble did an interview recently where she commented on Sam's storyline. Below is the actual quote.

Weve just been unfolding things little by little when it comes to Sams story. We didnt want to just lay it all out on the table because there really is so much going on with that character this season. We didnt want to give the cliff-notes version. We wanted to peel it back, layer by layer ------ I can tell you, what we really have been trying to do is be mum about what happened to Sam in general while Dean was in Hell because we want the fans to come to the episodes and watch it all unfold in real time. It's been so hard for me because I hate being cagey about spoilers. There has been so much stuff I havent been able to talk about ahead of time.

My question: HAS Sam's storyline been 'unpeeled' so far this year? Or has he been left hanging?

There's been a lot of very negative, and also, very positive opinions posted in the past few months. I invite you all to to prove--or disprove--Sera's above comments. Starting with episode 4.01, how has Sam been "unpeeled" in each episode? What have we learned thus far? Give it some serious thought. Those of you who are loving the season so far, HELP those of us who are unhappy--give us some Sam love.

Well, Halloween has come and gone but there are more holidays to come - and with them the Holiday Limp!Sam Awards.

Holiday Limp!Sam Awards

Were getting ready for the holidays early this year! This holiday season we wanted to revive, in part, The Limp Sam Fan Fiction Awards. What better way to celebrate the season than the 13 Days of Sammy?

This is how it will work. We currently have an LJ where nominations for the 13 categories can be made. This time around, to save on time, were focusing in on the limp categories. To nominate, you must reply to the category post with the author, title, AND a URL. All replies will be moderated so they will not be visible to the public. Also, you do NOT need to be a member of livejournal to leave a reply.

Once nominations are closed, we will sort through the nominations and make a final list. When we make the list public, voting will begin. Then results will be compiled and we will reveal the winners of each category in the 13 days counting down to Christmas.

Keep in mind that the fics can be from any site and by any author. Since this is the first time weve done this, they can also be published at any time but must be complete at the time of nomination. Fics can be rated anywhere from G through R, but please include a warning with an R rated fic--we still want to keep this as family friendly as possible. If you have a question on a fic, just post it and the mods will take it under consideration.

And the categories for this winter limpness extravaganza are:

Best Abduction

Best Curse or Bewitching

Best Intubation

Best Oxygen Deprivation (Drowning, Choking, or anything else where Sams breathing is impaired)

Best Head Injury

Best Bloody Mess (Find all the gunshots, stabbings, impalings--anything that makes Sam bleed goes here)

Best Illness

Best Broken Bone

Best Unhinged (Give us the fics where Sam is emotionally traumatized and psychologically impaired)

Best Hospital Visit

Best Motel Room Fix-Up (This is the place for all those fics where the boys do it themselves without a visit to the hospital)

Best Limp Dean (Because we love Dean, too)

Most Original Limpness

So, you can start nominating today! If you nominated fics during the summer, we would appreciate it if you would do it again. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it would help us in our organization. And please, pimp the awards as best you can. The more participation the better! Mention it on your LJs, other message boards, in the notes of fics you write--anything! Lets make this a Merry Limp!Sam Christmas!
