Looking for info on the family of Henry Bowles, Susan Fuqua Bowles, Robert H. Amos and Elizabeth Fuqua Bowles Amos, Daniel Oscar Jennings and Susan Adaline Bowles. I am a descendent of Daniel Oscar Jennings through his son James Edward Jennings and grandson Fitzhugh Jennings. Desperate dad needs help!

I just purchased a home in Powhatan near the new high school. I knew it needed some work, but over two months later I'm still unable to live in it, and working there nearly every day (burning gas and time). I need simple things like insulation installed, vapor barrier put down, some light framing and drywall for closets, shelves installed, gutters hung, french drains (house has water/drainage issues), cabinets hung, painting, and the list goes on. I had no idea it would take this long, and I'm gradually going under financially while renting and paying the mortgage. I don't think we live in a world where neighbors kick in to help neighbors anymore, so the best I can offer is an hourly rate, or reasonable flat fee to get some things done so we can move in. I'm skilled, I have the know how and can give direction to someone with basic building/mechanical skills, but I just can't do it alone with a reasonable expectation of moving in soon. If you can help, or can plead my case to someone who may be able to help at reasonable rates, please have them contact me at dopsdad@hotmail.com.

I graduated PHS in '59 and still remember the great food they had in the school cafeteria. The rolls they made everyday were the best I have ever had and I wondered if anyone in the county has the recipe. The lady who used to make them was named Effie, I believe and Ms Worsham used to pass them out at lunch.
