2007/2008 Mongoose Gravity Prototype

I have 1 of (3) 2007/2008 Mongoose Gravity Prototypes built by Paul White Jr. This kart was built in July 2007, prior to the release of the Gravity later in the year. This kart was updated with ALL the goodies...here are the specs:

-Gray/Clear powdercoat frame
-Safrits Large Seat (mounted once)
-Performance Ultralite Hubs
-Performance open-top 13.5" wheel
-Performance 15' motor mount (new this year)
-Jex floating Sprocket Hub

...this kart has been raced less than 10 times and completely stripped down and cleaned after each race.

First off I want to say thank you to Bruce and Lana for giving us a place to race this year. The accomplishments we made this year wouldnt have been possible without them.

Over all we are happy with how things went all year, we had some good luck and some really bad luck and thankfully the good luck out weighed the bad luck. The track surface sure was different this year than in years past.

I think the whole crew responsible for running the show did a good job every week, that includes everyone from sign in, scorers, flagmen, grid steward, scale attendant, corner workers, concesions(those burgers were good) ALL of you, Thank you. I just wish Mother Nature had helped out a little more. It would have been nice to have some rain during the week instead of on so many race days. Flagging was very much improved over last year, no matter who was up there doing it.

I also want to thank Amy Clow for taking the time to take pictures. Long after any money won is gone those pictures are still there as a reminder of our accomplishments. And they are even better than a trophy since you can look at a picture and instantly remember the event.

Thanks to Demyan Towing for the savings bonds and 6 trophies in the Jr. classes, We didnt win one but we sure did like the opportunity to try for it.

And thanks to American Power Sports for their involvement in the Dirt Series as well as the team race on 9/21. Didnt win the team race either but the opportunity to try was nice to have.

I cant forget to thank the drivers in the Jr. 1 class, Kyle had fun racing with all of you this season.

I sure hope Bruce and Lana will stay with the track, I really think they can make a go of this. Sure kart counts were low and some racers who only come once in a while may not have gotten a very good impression of Goodhope this season. Bruce is new at running a track and with time I think he will be fine. Sometimes racers can be brutal when they dont like a call that was made against them or they believe there should have been a call made to there benefit. You just have to shrug those things off. Some track operators take things too personal, and I didnt get that impression from the Works this season.

Sometimes us racers take things too personal as well. And this is something we all need to try not to do.

I wish some of the locals that have Animals would have brought them out, especially for the Jr. Animal class. Kyle had a blast running in the Jr. Animal class with Aaron Sugar, these two didnt leave anything on the table and raced each other hard every time they went on the track, and they got along well off the track. But I bet with more racers in the class they would have had even more fun.

I think we are lucky to have a track like Goodhope in our area. And we will be back next year.

UAS Sportsman Division race this weekend at Acme

The UAS Nationals are just a few days away guys and gals. still looking for 13 to 17 year olds to run Sportsman class.

F200 engine weight is only 320 lbs

Animal weight is 326 lbs

Can do what ever you want to the engine as long as you have a restrictor plate at .650 (can be home made restrictor or just drill out an old plate to .650)

I think it was an 'altered' weight at 340#; and had to be bumped up to the standard 365# for one night.

Thinking about blowing off the dust on this engine and having some FUNNNNNNNNN!

Racing Sept 20-21, 2008

This weekend will be the last race weekend of the year at Goodhope Speedway. We have a home in Houston, TX which, if you have not heard, was hit by a disastrous hurricane last weekend. While our home was not damaged it remains without power. We were in Ohio during the hurricane but still have many family and friends in Houston without electric, water or sewer. It is difficult to use your car since most gas stations are out of gas or don't have the electric to pump the gas. You can't keep food without electricity and ice is in constant demand, but you have to get in your car...which doesn't have any gas to go get it. There is no air conditioning or even fans, especially hard on the elderly. Lana's parents had a tree come down on their lines and are being told not to expect power for nearly a month. We are anxious to get back and see what we can do.

The Ironman race on Saturday will be the final for a three race series. The American Power Sports Dirt series will be reduced to a 10 race series with the best 8 counting for points and a minimum of 6 to be considered for year-end awards.

The year end banquet has been scheduled for Saturday, October 25th, but may be moved to Sunday, Oct. 26th. We guaranteed 150 for a Saturday, but only had 37 sign up at this point. As a result of the low turn out, we may be forced to go to Sunday.

Tom Joyce(senior stock, over 35) is in St.E's hospital. He had a stroke Monday morning. Not sure of the cause at this time. He is having tests done on Tuesday. Please keep him and his family in your prayers!

Accutoe Pro Kit (w/expansion)

I have a used Accutoe Pro Kit (with expansion kit) I'm looking to sell...this kit allows you to set the toe with the driver in the kart...it's a must have for serious kart tuners.

The kit is in great condition and all parts work just like new. These sell for 332.99 and 97.99 for the expansion kit (total of 430.98)
