The last few days we have seen an improvement in the fluke fishing, still alot of shorts, but we've seen more keepers. The bluefishing continues to be a bit frustrating, there has been no real pattern to them, we fish different spots each day. We had our first overnighter last Fri/Sat. Managed 6 small YFT on the chunk at night, 2 nice YFT and a white trolling. all the squid we wanted for bait, had to use them, they ate everything else. Anchored in 475 for the night, trolled the others in 50-55 fa..
We have a couple Sat.'s open, Aug 16,23 due to cancellations. Could do overnight, day troll or inshore trip on either day.

on the 21st of July had a group from the Howell Elks on board the Cindy Lou out of Sails Aweigh in Brick -- they fished in the Pt.Pleasant Elks fluke tournament -- they caught a boat load of keepers up to 24inches -- also sea bass -- ling -- bluefish -- and sea robins -- a great day

We got back in the water late Friday, got her cleaned up and are ready to go. The bluefishing was good, very steady pick, not too many dogs. Jigs and bait worked equally well. The fish were of a mixed size, 3-9 lbs.. Ray Albright's roofers had a good time Sat., great weather and good fishing. Sunday we hit the wrecks with the Chris Eastburn group. The weather was actually too nice, anchoring was tough, but we did put together a good catch of sea bass and a few ling. The keeper ratio was about 1-1 most of the time. Pool fish was 4lbs. This good sea bass fishing should hold up for a couple more weeks, dates are available so don't hesitate.

FYI--I have Sat. May 31 and Sun. June 1 open due to cancellation and date changes. If interested call or e-mail, the sea bass fishing is very good and will most likely stay that way for the next couple weeks. We also have weekdays available.

Surf fishing / any luck out there

went out wednesday nailed about 16 too 20 shorts but lost a drum at about 15 to 20 feet in front of me .That baby had my rod bent like I havent seen in a long time and talk about some drag working. Any body else having any luck.

Fished the delaware bay wednesday slow pick on blue fish in the morning. Moved out to the drop off we were atacked by doggies . so back to the inside and found a ciuple more blues. Bait was fresh bunker and clams. Wind came up hard in the afternoon and the rest is history . Will getem next time.

The first trip of '08 started off pretty slow but ended rather well. Went off to 75' hoping to find a few sea bass but didn't, a few as well as a few tog. Moved in a little with pretty much the same fishing so went in a little more and got the bites we needed. Steady pick on the tog with the ratio about 50/50. Three out of the eight had limits and the others 2 and 3 per man.

this past week was very good for us jigging bass and blues. mostly shorts of course, but we do catch enough keepers to keep the guys happy, today was our best so far with 19 keepers, probably 40-50 shorts and 30 or so blues. did start blackfishing today also, that was fair, tough conditions with the wind and seas. dates available for either until mid december.

tuna fishing

We had a good day trolling small bft and blues today with Scott Cassano and his family/friends. Released 9 bft and 8 large blues. Most of the bft were only an inch short or so. Tried some different spots for larger bft but found none so we went back to the starting point and caught a few more blues and tuna. Fished a lump around 26715/43006, lots of sand eels. R/W clones,plugs,G/Y zukers most bites. Water is green, 71-72, somewhat clear.

The blues are still keeping the customers happy. We have been doing excellent both day and night with fish averaging 7-12lbs.. Saturday nights pool fish was 17lbs.! Also did OK sharking, released a 80lb mako and two blue sharks of 100 on Saturday. Fished the 25 fa hole area, all was good except for the water color, but the sharks didn't seem to mind. The fluking has also picked up quite a bit. We have night and weekday dates available for all types of fishing.

June 19th fished with the Reel Seat Tackle shop, Dave Arbreitman and Al Sherman. Had 13 fluke up to 5 lbs.
June 21st fished with Carl, Bill, John and Jim limited out with fluke up to 8 lbs plus lots of shorts. Fluke fishing has gotten really good in the last week.

I thought this was very interesting;

I usually don't keep many stripers, but with recent catches, the larger female fish seem very stressed from spawning, so I kept a few.

When we cleaned fish caught further out in the bay,their stomachs were full of sea robins. Fish caught further back in the bay were full of bunker. Neither fish still had eggs.

sea bass and blues

This past week was a good one for sea bass and blues. Early in the week Jim Moore of the Fishfinders club, Phila., and John Foley's Bristol gang did well with the sea bass up to 4lbs.. The blues cooperated real good for Ray Albright's group, they used mostly jigs to catch their fill of 5-11lb fish. Chris Eastburn had some guys out on a B-day trip for his brother Lem and they to had all they wanted on bait and jigs so a short stop for sea bass added to an already great day with 75 or so keeper sea bass, the pool for the bass was taken by Ren with a 5.2lb fish. We have weekday dates open for these blues or seabass and nights for the blues.
