Problems

I tried sending an email but haven't gotten a response, so I'll post it here.

I've used your lab several times for posters and have been very happy with it. However, I am having a problem with 20x30 prints, after several months they seem to start getting wavy, wrinkled, bubbled... I initially thought that my house has maybe gotten too humid. But this weekend I visited my mother-in-law who I had given a print to for Christmas and I saw hers is in just as horrible shape. I was embarrassed that I had given her this gift and it now looks so ugly. Her house is climate controlled and would not be too humid. Both are framed in a cheap Wal-Mart frame.

Any chance I could get these replaced, or at least one for my mother in-law?? Any idea why this happened? How can I prevent it from happening in the future?? I would like to continue using Elco Labs but not if my prints are going to be no good after six months.

upsizing question...

Hi,
I am looking to order a few 30x60 prints. Before I order them, I would like to make sure I am clear on a few things. In your FAQ's, it says not to upsize yourself and let the RIP do the work. Now, does that mean I should have my picture in the same aspect ratio of 30x60 (1:2) and let RIP do the actual upsizing? Or should I have the photo I upload be the exact dimension of a 30x60? Thanks for the help.

Movie poster print? (27X41)

I created a movie poster for a movie I made and wanted to know how to size it for printing. I notice you don't have a 27X41 selection, so what's my best option if I want to have you print it?

Thanks Guys,

Great job on the second round of poster prints for PsychoMania.
We may end up opening part of the theater building for independent
film makers to premiere their films next year. If they need poster prints to put
into the marque poster frames to promote their films, we will definitely be sending them your way with a link.

Thanks Again!
theaterofterror.com

Tiling prints

I'd like to take an image and split it into two 30x40 prints so that it is 60 wide and 40 tall. Is the full bleed pretty exact? Have you had anyone do this in the past? Do you think it will turn out well if I start from a 6MP image?
Really Stupid Question

I noticed the sizes you can order are portrait dimensions. I shot almost entirely in landscape, will it automatically print in the right dimensions?
Getting black blacks.

So during my soft proofing my blacks are becoming slightly more gray, seeming to lose contrast. Editing during the soft proof doesn't seem to get me very near to my original edit. Any ideas how to solve this while maintaining my original edit?
wrapped canvas size

hey there. just wanna start by saying i've ordered a few poster-size prints and i think you're service and printing is great.

i have a couple questions about sizing for canvas. i want a custom sized, wrapped (1.5") canvas print of 40x40. i know that for custom poster sizes, if you wanted an unconventional size, you'd have to add a border (for example, 40x40 would have to have a full size with border of 40x60). is it the same with canvas prints? meaning, do i have to size my image border at 40x60 for a 40x40 canvas print?

and secondly, with the wrapped canvas prints, do i 'over-size'? meaning, should i size it at 41.5x41.5, to make up for the 1.5" border?

hope this isn't too confusing. thanks for any help.

Thanks guys,

We just received the two PsychoMania theater of terror posters and I am really happy all around. I just presented it to a partner and we framed one of them immediately. He was totally blown away by the 30x40 prints.

I give you guys full kudos for a quality print and a fast turn around time. We could go with people locally, but after this I think the next poster printing will be heading your way too.

Thanks so much!
WNM
theaterofterror.com

Just confirming my print before sending.

Having two 30x40 prints made.

Image to be used will be 27x40. Canvas has been expanded to 30x40. Resolution of image is 180dpi, artwork came out of the 8 MB camera that way.

Looks fine with downloaded color profile and in print size view.

Any other issues I should worry about before sending?

Thanks
WNM

Poster minimum order....

I've done my research and decided to go with you guys.
I believe this lab stands out as professional more than others, your site made it easy to understand the process, and motivated me to try my poster print.
(later today)
BUT....my only problem is the 2 poster minimum order.
I shoot for my local drag strip, which I sale plenty of 8x10's,but the 20x30
poster prints I'm interested in selling probably will be slower.
I really don't want to make someone wait for their poster till I get another
buyer.
Is there anyway around this?

P.s- Is the 20x30 online special pricing short term,or is this what I'll always pay?

Thanks

Poster Size Question

I have what is probably a really silly question about poster prints.

I have an image that is 3000 x 2000 @ 72dpi. If I understand everything correctly my best bet would be to re-size it to 3000 x 2000 @ 100dpi which would give me a print area of 30x20.

What would be the correct poster size to order so that the image would not be cropped during printing? Do I need to specify landscape?

Thanks for the help.

-Jeff
