Icc Profiles....?

Has anyone been able to get the ICC Profile that Digilabs supplies to load and work in their Macs? (Suggestions/techniques please).

I've asked Digilabs for years, and gotten no functional response. Finally, they have told me that they can't/won't do anything with regard to creating functional ICC Profiles for their customers.

The lab guy suggests I use WYSIWYG technology, which is incredibly dysfunctional, and is the method used before ICC Profiles were created. (I first used WYSIWYG in 1998).

So, at this point I can either let the lab determine what my final prints should look like,
or print them with no correction and hope. Either way, I'm certain there will be a fair amount of returns/redos, with resulting delays, hassle, and expense.

What is the file size for uploading in the Photobook. When I use 300 dpi file size it says "uploading image" for hours and hours.

Satellite Connectivity Problem

Hi,

After digilabs pc software is launched, I can dialin to

1)   reserve event id

2) upload pictures for a wedding

However, if I try to connect via my Hughes Satellite, DWS7000 I immediately fail with error:

"Error: Could not reserve Gallery ID.   (Server response: Couldn't locate host) P"lease select a different Gallery ID.

I use Kerio Firewall, and have added program digilabs.exe to the authorized program list.

I have run the digilabs.exe-> Help-> Network Test and evertyhing is successful

HTTP Server Test DL DNS success true
FTP Web Server Connect Test: success
FTP Web Server Transfer Test: success
FTP Jobs Server Connect Test: success
FTP Jobs Server Transfer Test: success

I have added the proxy to both IE and Firefox for http 127.0.0.1 port 83 in case this is a proxy problem, though I don't see where the program uses it.

I use Windows XP SP 3.   There is no XP Firewall enabled.

I have also disabled my Kerio Firewall all together to see if that makes any difference and it does not.

Does any one know what needs to be enabled to allow satellite access to Digilabs for uploading pictures and reserving event IDs.   I want to cancel my dial access, which I only need for Digilabs.

Frustrations with software especially slowwwwww

Why is the software so slow loading pictures and exporting proof books. We're talking hours on a quad core Mac that makes Photoshop smoke.

Second thing, when I try to load a jpg for the cover it won't let me select my file. Boy was that an aggravating waste of time. I finally thought to save the file as a tiff and it took the tiff with no problem, but not a jpg?

Lastly I would like to display my name and contact info on the bottom of each page of the proof book. I spent a couple of hours trying to make that happen with floating objects displaying in the background. Finally I gave up in complete frustration. That should be an option as easy as typing in the info into preferences and telling the software to show on each page.

are the pages regular photo paper, photo paper mounted on heavy stock or is there an option? i've been using pictobooks because i like the weight but would rather use digilabs for my books. if it's not heavy or an option, will it be in the future?

Photog's Favorites

I was thinking...it would be really cool if there was a way to flag or indicate photographers favorites on the gallery. I realize that I can create a folder or something. But, I'd like to be able to put some sort of indicator that the image is one of my fav's as a service to the bride.

Ultimately, the bride would be able to sort by the photog's favorites and use those for album picks.

Slow image loading

Hi,

I'm on an Intel Xeon Mac Pro and I use the Digilabs software to upload images to a Web Gallery. I typically load about 600 images for a wedding. My question is why does it take soooooooo long for the software to load the images just for me to be able to view them within the software. I'm talking hours and hours and hours.

Just wondering if I'm the only one.

How Print Borders Get Chosen

I have yet to understand how a client can choose and apply a print border to a particular image. By clicking on Border Preview a pop up window appears with examples and no way to apply. What am I missing here :confused:

We have about 12 weddings this year. not bad. i'm the owner and have spent hundreds in online advertising to get these weddings. i have tried many things, reworked the contracts, included all photos on cd to get them in, then none on cd, currently only 50 that they choose. thanks to Digilabs, the proofbooks are now unbelievably beautiful and i give one out to each couple when i get it back from the lab. i figure this can act as a walking business card, if you will. i'm hoping to rely on word of mouth since that is the best way to get clients...but you need clients first. i have tried the knot.com as well as other online places with very little success and too much money spending. what do you guys do? i'm thinking of hitting the movie theaters each saturday night and putting flyers on 100 cars.

color space: undefined

Sorry if I'm missing something very obvious. I'm new to DigiLabs and the software. All my images have been shot and toned Adobe RGB and all my files have this embedded. After transfer to the software, though they look fine on my monitor, they all now say "color space undefined" which has me a bit concerned about end print quality. Is there a way to correct this, if in fact it needs correcting.
