I am trying to decide if I want to commit to an exclusive agency. So I was wondering what the moms and dads on here feel about this. Is your son or daughter with an exclusive agency or non exclusive and what are the advantages/disadvantages! Thanks for you help

Wanting to see how others have dealt with modeling contracts, any lessons learned.. .. the ones I've read so far seem to want to own the model for years and years... how does this really work. any advice is appreciated.

Two agencies at once?

A few months ago I sent my son's picture out to several agencies in my area. One agency picked him up and we have a contract with them. Another agency emailed today asking for hard copies of his picture. I'm assuming once you sign with one agency, you have to turn down other ones. Is this correct?

Submitting Photos to Agents

I was told that when submitting to agent, there are a few guidelines that should be followed...

Your child should be the only one in the photo
Stay away from busy backgrounds
Wear bright clothing -- stay away from white and black
Keep logos small, or none at all
Stay away from hats, hands on the face -- anything obstructing a clear view of face and features -- no half-faces
Show personality! Smile, choose a photo that has a sparkle in the eyes

When sending a photo in to an agent, they do not need to be professional, but it is best to show them in the best light -- neat and clean, no messy faces or messy hair, which is so cute for the scrapbook, but not when submitting! You don't want anything to "take away" from the focus of the face -- that's why busy backgrounds or large logos are a no-no.

I see so many photos of kids that are so cute but they're in their living room and you see a dirty sock in the background and toys around them. If you are looking for a good location, put a solid blanket down in your backyard and shoot a photo in front of your fence. For a headshot, zoom in and blur out the background. Just a few suggestions.

I just thought I'd give you some pointers off the top of my head... but please add to this thread and add your input!
