ALERT!!! LCD TV'S CAN FREEZE

We received our Jan. 2009 issue of Trailer Life today and read an article on page 52, "Frozen TV Damage." It seems that devices with LCD screens (TV's, laptops, and computer screens) can freeze if left in below-freezing temperatures for a fairly long period of time. We definitely will be moving our LCD TV inside during the winter months. Spread the word.

Headed to Fort Wilderness

Pam and I are thinking about extending our summer next year by spending some time at Fort Wilderness. So, we made reservations beginning October 1, 2009, through November 15, 2009, a nice summer extension. We would love to meet-up with any Creekers that, too, want to extend the summer. There was ample availability in October and we got AAA rates for that month.

Slides Do Not Close Tight

Our new '09 CC does not pull in the slides tight to the body of the fifth wheel. You can see the black rubber from top to bottom between the body and the slide plastic trim. Is this proper? Or is there some adjustment by the dealer (or me) to pull the slides in flush with the body of the RV?

Seems like this would cause quite a bit of wind drag towing down the road.

Towing Performance

We finally got our new CC and were able to tow with all the mods to the F350 (see signature) the last week. I set the Diablosport tuner to Tow tune.

The 37 ft. Cedar Creek towed well insofar as it held whatever speed set - 60, 65, 70 - with no problem. It did seem to work on some moderate hills though, with much more engine noise. The truck downshifted from OD running up to 2600, 2700 rpm. Is that unusual? It also had an odd and irregular sound from what I think is the (cold) air intake when loaded. Or is that sound the turbo? Normal?

The truck is a scalded ape when set on 80 hp Performance tune and not towing and the sounds are quite different which I expect.

This is our first diesel and first time towing such a load. Not complaining but want to be sure the truck does not have a problem.

32 WRL Hitch wt

Can anybody that owns this GII model (2009 32WRL) tell me what the actual pin wt is? I know what the literature tells me, but I'm wondering what reality is. I'm looking for empty actual pin weight, if any body has weighed theirs empty. I have one on order, and hope that reality is close to the advertised hitch weight?????

Mud roads and sites.

Not sure how I got in my site and really not sure how I will get out hope I clear the tree limb and can squeeze between the two trees to get out on a 90 degree turn no sewer hookup and $ 26.00 one night

Was to tired of driving to keep going.

CC 34 SATS Data

I'm seriously considering going from my Cardinal 29WB to the CC 34SATS and have a couple of questions that a search didn't answer. The specs for the 34SATS state the pin weight is 1760, is this close to correct? I've got an 04 Chevy 2500HD D/A I'll be pulling it with. Secondly, for those of you who have king beds in your SATS, what is the actual length? I'm looking for an 80 inch king like I now have in the Cardinal. Thanks for your input.

Black Water Flush System

I recently removed the storage drawers in the closet next to the bath in our 34RLBS. I noticed some plumbing associated with the black water flush system at the back of the closet. Cannot determine the purpose for this system. Appears to have a check valve, but not certain. Any thoughts on the purpose of this piping?

Gas Water Heater problems

I have a Gas Water Heater with Direct Spark Ignition Model SW12DE, Suburban. I get a spark but no Gas flow. There is gas in the bottles. and the range top gas flows and ignites. I'm thinking it is in the LP gas valve. The thing is only 2yrs. 2 months old so it is out of warranty by 2 months. Any one else have this problem with their water heater? I can run it on electricity for now.

Sad news

Hi, Just wanted to let all our creeker friends know that Mike's Mom passed away on sunday. We were in FL and left at noon on sunday and drove overnight to get home this afternoon. We will have the services on Wednesday and head back to Fl on Friday. She was 91 yrs old and was diagnosed with brain cancer 9 months ago. She had a long battle and was very ill since that time. She is now at peace with our Lord. We are saddened and grieving but we were prepared. The trip home was hard but we made it home safely and will spend the week with all the family.
