Hello everybody,

Is anyone using the beta version of MicroCharts for Reporting Services?
I would prefer to use MicroCharts in my SSRS Reports but currently I'm facing some problems:
1. I use the MicroColumns with a maximum of 4 columns (last 4 quarters). Is there a chance to stretch each column and the space in between to fill a cell of 1cm or more? In the current status the 4 columns are placed at the far left end and just consume some millimeters of the cell.
2. Is there a chance to define a color dynamically - e.g. iif(row is selected, blue, white)?
3. I cannot define an action - why? (click on a MicroChart will link to a new report showing a detailed chart)

Auto-updating Periodic Data

Is there a way to auto-update data that is submitted on a regular basis? I've designed a dashboard with about 12 microcharts and don't relish updating each chart on a monthly basis.

Excel pictures in Powerpoint

Hi

If I copy a range in Excel and then paste into Powerpoint via paste special (picture (enhanced metafile)) all looks great.

If I email that file to a colleague that doesn't have Microcharts installed, the image pasted into powerpoint looks very odd indeed.

Why is that? It's a little annoying having to PDF all my files which then cannot be updated by others

Quarter vs. Quarter Comparison

I'm new to micro charts. I just had it installed yesterday. I'm doing quarter vs. quarter comparison and trying to figure out how to visually show the data. I was looking at your example on the blackberry reports and may be able to use it. Can you help me figure out how to use this type of chart?

Excel Services

Is it possible to publish a sheet with a sparkline to Excel Services? I get an error message that says:

The workbook that you selected cannot be loaded because it contains the following features that are not supported by Excel Services:

External references (links to other workbooks)
Comments, ActiveX controls, Shapes, Text Boxes, Pictures, WordArt, Clip Art, Embedded OLE objects, Ink Annotations, Forms Toolbar controls, Control Toolbox controls, Charts that are part of a group, Signature Lines, or Camera objects

Failure to store license key

My system (Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2007) is not storing the MicroCharts license key. I will enter the key, and it appears to go through the activation process, as I do not get any error messages.

However, each time I launch Excel, Word, etc I get the same dialog box that says MicroCharts needs to be activated. I have to re-enter the license key. If I open up the license info from the Excel tool bar, or from the Windows Start Menu, All Programs, the Microcharts License key is blank once again.

I have tried entering the license key manually, and by copying and pasting from the email I received when I purchased the MicroCharts.

Please help.

How do I create a date axis

I would like to have an axis with the major-tic labels formatted as dates. Is there a way to do this? Is there any documentation of the Micro Axis font that would allow me to create my own axis, unrelated to the chart data?

Is there a function reference?

I have looked at the documentation and the FAQ but I cannot find a function reference. I want a list of the functions (bullet, micro line, etc) and a definition of the parameters.

If there is a description of the behavior controlled by the parameter and how the chart responds to changes that would be a bonus. For example, I would like to know that parameter_16 of the bulletgraph function is the projection value and that the performance bar between this value and reference_value1 will be colored according to Parameter_17. NB: I made these up but I would like a document with the correct ones.

(apologies if it is bad form to post twice, I posted in the FAQ by mistake)

chart formulas gone

I have built a couple of sheets with very extensive charts on them. 2 times now, the chart formulas have disappeared leaving the MicroCharts font with the last value/picture of the chart in them. The first time I thought is was something I did by entering something in the cell where the formula was, but this time I made sure the formulas had a marker in them to make sure I didn't overwrite it. They are all gone again. Does it have something to do with licensing? The licensing part says purchase although I have entered the key in a couple of times. The sheet updates values from another one, but the forumulas don't reference those values directly.

BulletGraph printing to PDF

I have a problem while generating PDF (Adobe Acrobat Standard 8) from Excel (2003). In some cases the first half of the BulletGraphs are chopped off. As you can see on the attached screenshot of the PDF file, within the same document there are other BulletGraphs that are rendered correctly. While in Excel they look fiune. Any idea what's going wrong here?
