membership renewal

I was a member, can't remember when my last membership expired. Do I have to submit a DD214/215 again? Or is my 1st one on file? Do I send in the app. on the site ? or is there a renewal app somewhere?

Alpha 1/4 KIA Billie N. Plum

Hello Former members of 1/4.

I am John Gillespie, Sgt. USMC (ret). I served two and one half tours in Vietnam with Alpha 1/1, Echo 2/3 and 1st Combined Action Group. I enlisted on the buddy plan with my best friend Bill Plum in March 1965 but he failed the written entrance test so I went to San Diego alone. The recruiter in Flint, Michigan gave him a second chance and he got in the back door as a reservist. He converted to active duty after boot camp in PI.

Bill joined Alpha 1/4 in the Chu-lai area on 3 February 1966 and was KIA on 26 February. I have a letter he wrote to me just a few days before he died. I noted the 1/4 casualty listing shows several WIA's in Alpha Company on the same day including Lt. Connere, Pfc. Quinlan and Lcpl. Wandmacher. I have long wanted to know the circumstances of how my friend Bill died. I have attached a newspaper clipping and high school picture of Bill to this post. I'm looking for anyone who served with my best friend from childhood, LCPL Arthur A. Johnson. LCPL Johnson, from Philadelphia, PA, served with Charlie Company, 1/4 and was KIA near Duc Pho, Quang Ngai on February 25, 1967. I would like to know more about his service in Vietnam and/or his untimely death.

Looking for old Marines

Anyone know the whereabouts of Marines 1st Sgt. Clyde Ash; Gunny Kleinbreil; Drill Instructor H. Hohnhorst and Sgt MgGee; Corporal Sundholm, and Jim Fahey who was discharged some time around early 1970. Also, anyone who served with B 1/4 3dMarDiv. from around '70 to '71 when I was discharged. In addition, anyone who was in Boot Camp at PI in the late 60's, platoon 1086, specifically a Private Minor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. pennstatejim2002@yahoo.com

Guys

I hate to keep changing things around, but due to persons unknown posting enappropriate messages and web sites on our Message Board, I'm now changing things around for the better.

I now have full control of this message board, meaning no messages can or will be posted on this web site without my personal approval. The only messages that will be denied will be those posted by persons who wish to spam this site. The former board didn't have the safe guards that this one does and it will be closely monitored for those who wish to spam our site.

I will retrieve all messages posted on the previous board and try to have them listed here. If this can't be done I ask that eveyone resign onto the new board. I will notify each of you as to whether or not things can be transferred.
