: Editing a message results in the HTML being displayed on the page

If you post a message using the advanced WYSIWYG editor, the editor uses HTML to post the message. When using the WYSIWYG editor, the system accepts the editor's HTML but does not accept HTML hand-written by the user (since you have the HTML filter on).

Therefore, if you post a message using the WYSIWYG editor and then edit that message with a browser that does not support the advanced WYSIWYG editor, it results in the HTML being displayed on the page after it is edited. The reason for that is because the HTML filter is filtering the HTML posted with the browser that doesn't support WYSIWYG.

There are two ways around this problem, you can either turn off the HTML filter or you can turn off the WYSIWYG editor. Both options are available in the "General Settings" or "Settings and Colors" section of the Website Toolbox members area.
