: File uploading explained

Your message board membership includes 1 MB of storage space and 20 MB of bandwidth for the file uploading utility. If you need more bandwidth or storage, you can upgrade to a larger file uploading package. You can view your current file uploading usage statistics by clicking here.

The file uploading utility can accomplish two main tasks, file attachments and avatar uploading.

File Attachments

A file attachment is a file that has been uploaded from a user's computer and attached to a message board post.

You can enable or disable file attachments by following the directions below:

  1. Log into your Website Toolbox account.
  2. Click the File Uploading link.
  3. Click the Manage Settings link.
  4. Checking or uncheck the option for Enable file attachments.

When your users are composing a new post, they will see a "Manage Attachments" link on that page, clicking that link will allow them to attach a file to their post by uploading it.

Avatar Uploading

If you have member registration activated in your message board, your users can upload their own avatar picture for their profile.

You can enable or disable avatar uploading by following the directions below:

  1. Log into your Website Toolbox account.
  2. Click the File Uploading link.
  3. Click the Manage Settings link.
  4. Checking or uncheck the option for Enable avatar uploading.

Your users can upload their avatar by clicking the "Upload an avatar from my computer" link when creating or editing their message board account.
