: When will my setting changes take effect?

Any chat room setting changes, including changes made to channels, will not take effect in your chat room until there are no users connected to it. As soon as the entire chat room is empty, the settings are automatically applied. Any user who connects after that point would receive the updated settings.

The system waits until the chat room is empty to prevent problems that may arise from some users using the old settings and some users using the new settings.
